My dog is obsessed

She lives this thing. Even just as a toy before it ever had snacks inside. She runs and fetches it. Amazing with the yak snacks or yakkie snackies as we call them. I have a 50lb border collie mix and she's cute on this thing for over an hour and still have some. Since it takes her longer I'm able to leave her to enjoy her treat and don't have to check as often to take it back (when out gets to small or of I'm only keeping her have half). I've noticed this makes her less tense and productive of the treat. She is excited and playful and will even let me toss and play with the cheese a bit before she gets to work. Still held up after 6 cheeses and many hours. Will buy again

Good product but short of what I hoped for

Pros: Makes cheese chew last longer. Our dog seems to stay engaged for a long period of time. Will us as chew toy even when empty. Cons: Don't know what brand other folks are using for cheese chews but the chews I use can not fit bigger then a medium in. Since our dog likes to use as chew toy, it is not likely to last as we are already seeing some tearing from chewing on it. Our dog will finish the center section of the cheese chew that is easy to get to, then we have two short pieces that will fall out of the toy. If we just give our dog a loose cheese chew, we only end up with one small piece. Part of the attraction to the toy was being able to avoiding having the dog chew on pieces small enough to potentially choke on. Bottom line. cheese chews do last longer. Dog loves playing with the toy. Durability is questionable as chewing damage is visible after the second or third cheese chew. Does not eliminate and actually increases potential for dog having small pieces to chew on. More susceptible to damage from chewing than I hoped for. Like any chew toy, SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED. Level up supervision dependent on dog and chewing habits

Indestructible, makes treats last longer!

I purchased this over a month ago and it still looks brand new. My dog is a heavy chewer! I place inside long lasting chew treats like ol’ roy muncy bones (about $1 each) and they last about an hour inside the jughead. Without it he can chew them up in about 5 minutes. I also place inside yak milk bones 6” and they last a week! The only downside is that they take so long to chew that my dog will hide it when he is done chewing and save it for later. So, I try to take it away when he seems done so that when I bring it out later he is excited again. I have purchases 2 of them for this very reason. I also put peanut butter inside and it washes much easier than a kong.

Falling apart after third use

Got this for my puppy to help our yaky chews stand a chance but the rubber is already cracking at the edges. Maybe my yaky was too big or maybe our dog was a little too rough on it...I am hoping this one was just defective and have returned it for a replacement. If the second one stands up to his regular use I will update my review with what we learn. Aside from the cracks at the edges, my dog did love the toy. He carried it around even when it was empty and we tested it with water buffalo puzzle sticks which worked great too. It definitely keeps his little brain occupied longer than the treat by itself. There are some reviews saying the dog can't get to the cheese - if the dog is still interested and is licking and playing then the toy is serving it's purpose of keeping the cheese safe from being devoured in five minutes. The licking will soften the cheese and the dog will still get some of the treat, just very slowly. After a couple of hours our cheese hardly had any damage but the dog absolutely loved it. The jug head (if the next one isn't defective) is not only prolonging play, it's keeping dogs safe from choking themselves on small pieces they could normally break off of the cheeses. With all that said, your mileage may vary but with my three agressive chewers I rate this a 3/5 with hopes that the toy I got was just a bad batch and the next one may last longer. Great concept!

Clever but not sturdy

Does the job

The media could not be loaded. Got this so my dog wouldnt choke on the small leftover piece of yak bone after he eats enough that there is only a small nub left. This toy makes him have to lick the bone instead which makes him eat it slower. I got the size small, for a small dog that weighs 13 pounds this works. He isn't able to get his mouth all the way around to gnaw at the rubber to eventually rip through it. But he was able to pull the yak bone out of the toy holder. For reference i got the small size yak milk bone. So wish the toy was slightly smaller so that the yak bone was snug inside. Always supervise your dog when giving them a new toy. He ran around the house once he pulled the yak bone free and glad I took it away before he choked.

Does not hold up to super chewer.

Overall I liked the concept. But in less than 30 minutes, my super chewers had a hole in the rubber and pulling chunks off. She is 7 months old, 40#, part German shepherd part poodle.

How slim can you go?

This seems more fit for a pizzle rather than a yak cheese. I put a worn down and thin yak cheese into it and it didn't fit except into the middle piece, literally fell out when the dog dropped the toy. It could work if you used it for freezing peanut butter as a treat. I tried putting a 12" collagen stick in it and my dog just pulled it out. Requesting return.

Very versatile!

These fit himalayans on the sides, and thinner ones on top and the larger bully sticks. They also stabilize the chew and keep it in place for the dog. Have 3 dogs and 2 Jugheads, will likely buy a 3rd soon :)

Puppy loves it

I have a puppy who paces! This kept her busy for 4 hrs ! I have put a few different chews inside it . I highly recommend. She is a toy destroying girl and this one has been good for a week !!

Durable

The toy is very durable. My Himalayan chews were too small and fell out. You need medium size ones to fit snug. Overall am happy with it and the dogs seem to enjoy it.

The bone does not stay in

A waste of money! I bought this because my dog loves bully sticks, but she tends to try to swallow the end piece. I'm afraid she will choke so I was hoping this would help. Within 10 minutes my frenchie figured out how to pull the bully stick right out. Don't buy this.
