40lb Lab Retriever Loves It!

My 40lb Labrador Retriever loves her Nylabone. She DOES chew threw it and it's important to note that it IS plastic, so the product description mentions it should NOT be ingested. The bone eventually does get worn down and she does "bite, then lick" the bone, but she doesn't seem to ingest the entire bone over time and isn't interested in the small, ant-sized pieces of the bone she's carved off with her teeth. However, over time, the bone does shrink and the edges do get very sharp, so be wary of that. It's not going to hurt anyone, but if you step on it or if it brushes you the wrong way, it could scratch you. Other than that, it's a cheap toy that lasts about a month or so for my dog–a dog that chews up most plush toys pretty quickly.

One of our favorites

My dog has gone through several of these and we keep replacing them because he loves them so much. They're a bit softer than the hardest nylon toys out there, which makes me less worried about it being too hard on his teeth. The shape is easy for him to hold, and I guess it smells/tastes good, because he just goes to town. It has little to no odor to a human nose though. Like all chew toys, if there are bits protruding you should snip them off and once they get too mangled it's time for a new one. But even for my power chewer these last several months. For reference, my dog is a 65lb german shorthaired pointer.

My puppy loves it

Was a little heavy for him at first, but now he chews away. He's 7 months now it took him a while to want to use it, but now he really loves it. He still brings sticks inside the house ????but this is a great alternative to chewing and biting. It is starting to warp so not sure how much longer I'll let him have it but I would buy another one

My Great Pyrenees loves this

My 130-lb. Great Pyrenees loves to parade around the house with a big bone in his mouth. After his old (retired, no longer sold :( Nylabone finally got destroyed, this turns out to be a perfect replacement! He loved the flavor right away —he has been gnawing on the ends but still has not managed to wear it down very far. Plus, it fits perfectly into a jar of peanut butter, so the ends can be dipped before he chews, which is his favorite treat :-)

Nylabone is the best

Love Nylabone products. I have tried many dog toys that my small cockapoo destroys within minutes. The Nylabone products actually lasts. I will continue to purchase the Nylabone products.

Beagle Approved

These sticks are almost perfect! I have bought at least 50 of them since we got Yuri (he's 2yrs old now) He absolutely loves them. The ONE negative thing I can say is that I've had a few of them split open and the dark brown coating separated from the inner plastic piece. Overall, a great purchase.

pup loves this stick

My pup is 18-months old and is on his second one of these. I bought him the first one when he was only a few months old and he loved it. After 6-months it got gross and pointy at the end; so I threw that one away and got a second one. He loves this new one just as much. We do supervise him with toys. I'm sure there have been times I wasn't watching when he was playing with this and I felt like he was safe.

Sent it back...too small

Despite the photo, this "bone" is very small and not suitable for my spaniel. Even though it was shipped from the US I decided to pay the postage back to the US for a return to get some of the money back.

Quite Durable

100 lb German Shepherd has been chomping on it daily for close to 2 weeks and it is still holding up quite well (see picture). He is a pretty strong chewer. He takes out beef knees pretty quickly. I switched to these because I think he may chipped a tooth on one of the beef bones I gave him (not too badly but enough that I figured it best not to try my/his luck). Contrary to a couple of posts I don't think this yoy is something a larger dog would chip their teeth on as it readily shows teeth marks (it does not splinter or break though so it is still quite durable). My boy is a pretty picky chewer, but it only took him a couple of days to warm up to this one. He even got upset and was barking at me to give it back to him while I took the picture for this review (he is happily chewing on it again as I write this review). Overall very impressed. Saves me money as I had switched to Himalayan Cheese bones after the beef bones (he made short work of the cheese bones so I needed a better alternative).

Not ideal

I have a 20 lbs mixed breed puppy whose final adult weight is apx 22lbs. As she starting chewing on the end it started to have stringy flakes of plastic falling off. Took this away pretty fast.

Our shihpoo destroyed it, in one evening!

Sadly, we thought we’d found the answer to our little Shihpoo’s (12 pounds) aggressive chewing due to his separation anxiety. However, this did not work out whatsoever! Very disappointed and hopefully they read reviews and see that it didn’t live up to it’s “Guarantee” Not sure what indestructible item will be what it advertises.

Puppy not interested

We have a Bernese Mt Dog pup who is a HUGE chewer -destroys beef bones in an hour or so. She was not very interested in this though. It looks great, has a nice appealing bacon scent (to me anyways, hah!) but it is very plastic-y so I think that's why she doesn't use it. It's too bad because she does like to chew wood, so I thought this would be a great alternative.
