I was surprised how hard filter media like porous stones can find its way to your impeller and jam it up.

As advertised

Finally had to replace the impeller in my FX5 after 7 years. It was making some clunking noises. Replaced it with this new one. Now it runs like new. Easy replacement.

Missing parts and bad manufacture assembly

Missing O-rings and tool to pull out old bushing. Then between magnet and impeller there was a bushing not press up against the impeller. At first I thought compare to my other FX5 and FX6 impellers I own already I thought replacement was simply a newer model with a spacer between the impeller and magnet to prevent magnet from moving forward. But after filling the canister and finding out the impeller is not spinning I had to re dissemble the canister and found out the impeller was not spinning even out of the canister which after a quick inspection found what appear to be a spacer simply was a bushing that needed to push forward. Hopefully this wont come loose down the road.

Exact replacement part

Exact replacement impeller for fluval fx-5. Very quiet operation. Minimal effort to replace the bushing, pro tip is to use a flashlight to see where you place the hook.

Direct from factory unit

As advertised. Not much more I can say really. I needed the impeller and it worked. 3 stars for me is a no issue review but also didn’t blow my mind with any specific above expectations result. Had I bought this and was told 5 day shipping and got next day that would be worth a star for 4. Had I got this and it actually improved the flow rate and performed better then factory then another star. 3 is as expected and worked flawlessly

Awesome my fx5 kept stopping had to give it a bang to start the impeller up again was doing it for months! ???? this product is going for £64 on eBay so is a bargain and works faultlessly 10/10 ????????
