inexpensive and works good enough for all ages

The First Years American Red Cross Multi-Use Digital Thermometer is wider than I am used to but it still does the job placing it under the left or right side of the tongue. THis is for adults too but is wider with flexible tip for added comfort for young children.

Bought for pandemic

When the pandemic began, I realized I didn't have a thermometer at home so I went online to find one since the local stores had already been ransacked of so many things. This shows its for babies, but its a thermometer. It'll do just fine for me if/when I need it...the only issue I had was it took a couple of MONTHS to receive, but again, with the pandemic, I wasn't surprised, just frustrated with all the issues of shipping delays, huge out of stock issues, etc You get what you can get and feel thankful you got what you got! Stay safe

Easy to use but takes awhile to get temp

It's takes 30 secs or so to register the temp. I am not in a hurry so it's fine but if you are looking for instant feedback this isn't for you. I am not sure of the accuracy. I hope it's accurate.

Easy to use.

I really like this thermometer, have purchased two so far. It's very inexpensive and easy to use. The tip is flexible which makes me feel a little bit better about using it rectally. I'm always a little freaked out when I take my son's temp that way. He's 5 months old and a major wiggler so I'm always worried that he'll jerk at just the wrong angle. Not a big deal when I use this thermometer though b/c you can't over-insert it. I like it better than the ones that are made for rectal use only b/c I won't have to buy a new one to use under the arm or tongue (of course I would thoroughly sanitize it first! lol)

Don't buy if accuracy is vital to you

Three members of the family tried this thermometer repeatedly, finding it to be consistently inconsistent. The results typically ranged from 96.7 - 97.2. As we were all healthy and assumed that our actual temps were +/- 98.6, we decided that the approach to take is to take your temp 3 times, average the results, and add 1.6 degrees. Since for healthy individuals the result will be around 97 degrees, at least we can detect a fever when it exceeds that -- even if we can't tell how bad the fever actually is.

This thermometer is what the description says it is. It works well and I've compared it to other thermometers. Would recommend.
