Great value compared to others

I was surprised how sturdy the Stainless is, and the contents they ship with it. These are a steal compared to other galvanized or stainless steel type fastener. I’ve bought 6, and all of them fit snug on pressure treated 6” x 6” milled lumber, 5.5” x 5.5” ) like you get at your lumber yard or big store. They should not have used the word “rough” lumber when describing the fit, because you will need to shave a half inch or more. Even the milled standard 6” x 6” is sometimes 6 5/8” or greater, and I’ve just taken a grinder with a 40 -60 grit abrasive pad and trimmed it down a bit. Well worth the little effort of labor you need to put in. I used longer 3/8” stainless wedge anchors, because I had them on hand, otherwise they include all the hardware you need. Again, it depends on your application and any codes that are required. I will usually err on the side of caution, and go for thicker and longer hardware ( that’s what she said” ) when possible

Bracket is quite sturdy

It is silly what some makers are charging for construction brackets (zinced steel at that, not stainless). This came packaged like a piece of fine china and with fasteners, and the price was very reasonable. I was a little concerned when I ordered that it might be flimsy, but it is, in fact quite sturdy and well thought out design wise (note arced mounting holes in base). I used it fastened down with a ground anchor over pavers to provide attachment point for a 6 x 6 (nominal, true size 5.625 square) 11' tall cedar post being used to support a sun shade fabric. This nicely provides a moisture break between the pavers at grade and the bottom of the post (sealed, primed and painted) so I have no fear of this post ever rotting, or walking due to wind loads.

Inconsistent Size

I ordered and received four of this product. The issue is that the size was inconsistent on the brackets. Two had a measured opening (at the base of the bracket where your post would rest) of 5.5" x 6" and two were about 5" x 5.5". None of the four measured in at the advertised dimensions of 5.71 x 5.2". We had to do some trimming of our posts anyway to make them work with our project, but otherwise I would have returned these (at least the two that weren't big enough to receive 6x6 dimensional lumber). Other than the size issue, the construction quality was very good - nice quality stainless steel, and plenty of hardware. I dislike the concrete anchors that come with and opted to go with locally purchased concrete anchors for additional length/penetration into the concrete.

Good value.

Worked good for 5x5 posts which didn't present a problem for me as I can cut any size on sawmill.

They are good quality but does not fit a 6x6, measures 5.2 instead.

Do not order from this vendor

I recieved two different size brackets one has extra holes in it. The smaller of the two different brackets dosent fit a 6 x 6 post like advertised. Dont buy these.
