Needs an interior drawstring, but don’t knock it

While I really wish this had a drawstring to cinch this more tightly at the waist, I was pleasantly surprised by this lightweight, compressible puffer vest. Winter weather in my neck of the woods is unpredictable this year, so a big old chonk of a jacket didn’t make sense compared to hood old layers. Unlike so much Vera Bradley product, this is a nice, subtle item. It’s a versatile flat black with black and white fleece plaid lining, which would go with metal, witchy, or goth clothes just as well as everyday street clothes. I don’t feel like I’m wearing something straight out of the hospital gift shop or the Hallmark clearance sale, and I can coordinate the vest with mori kei style or athleisure alike. Don’t expect this to be your sole defense against sub-zero temperatures, but you should be able to get plenty of use out of it from mid-fall through early spring without issue.

Nice vest, runs small

I really enjoyed the look of this vest. Classic black with a nice muted plaid inside. The vest is thin so I definitely think it’s more of a fashion item than a functional one. I ordered a 2x and thought it would fit well. I wear a size 16/18 and the vest was a bit snug. I would recommend sizing up if you’re unsure, especially if you have wider hips like me.

SOOOOO SOFT! Warm and beautiful green color. I am so happy with it.

I was hesitant about the price for this vest, but it definitely surpasses expectations. I do not like to splurge if I don't have to, but I would for this vest. It is extremely comfortable and warm. So cozy for a cold day. I like to use it if the day is windy and I step outside to the garden, this way, my back and chest are warm, but my arms remain free to handle my plants. The zipper closes effortlessly and you can tell is is a sturdy, high quality piece. The green hue is even more beautiful in person and I absolutely recommend it!

Attractive vest but very thin & lightweight

Definitely a nice quality vest, it's lovely fabric and a good fit. I only found it to be a little tight on my hips when i have it zipped. It will make a good layering piece this winter because it's not puffy at all, it's very thin and very lightweight. The material is such good quality and made for colder weather so it will add a layer of warmth. I like it.

You might want to size up

This is a cute puffer vest that offers a good amount of warmth, especially considering it is lined with fleece. I didn't notice that it had a floral lining when ordering it so that was a nice surprise. The print lining is attractive and appealing, but at the same time, I almost wish it were just solid because now I feel like I have to wear something that somehow coordinates with the colors in the pattern. I am 5'4", 115 lbs. for reference, typically wearing XS/S/2/2P and I would say the small just fits. In other words, you might want to consider going up a size if you like a little extra room under the vest. The zipper pull hangs a little longer than I love, but overall, I am pleased with the quality, comfort, color and styling of this vest.

Cute vest

I got the Vera Bradley Women's Zip Up Puffer Vest with Pockets (Extended Size Range) in X-Large, Tartan Plaid. I absolutely love the pattern, but for $85, I wish they matched the stripes on the front and back pieces so that they met up properly on the sides. The plaid is cute though, and I got a compliment the very first time I wore this vest. The vest does add a lot of warmth to my core. It's great for when I need a little extra warmth and layers well with jackets and long-sleeved shirts. It does fit true to size and I can fit it over a sweater. I also love that there are pockets that I can slip my hands into to keep them warm. The standup collar is great when I've zipped the vest all the way up to protect my neck, but can be annoying when I am sitting (or worse, driving). It doesn't lie flat well, and instead tends to climb up toward my chin. If the vest was structured so that the collar laid flat when unzipped, I'd love it. Hopefully, I'll eventually get the collar to stay down through wear. I do love this vest. It is super cute and warm, and easy to wash and dry. I just think that for the price, a few of the details could be tweaked to make it even better.
