The Three Mounting Holes are a Bit Small

ADDED: Originally I had knocked off a start because the three mounting holes were too small. I had to drill out the holes to use even tiny screws. However, I noted that these are advertised as Brad Hold Tee Nuts which means that they are made to be secured with small nails. My fault for not reading the description correctly MODIFIED: I purchased the 5/16 - 18 x 5/8 tee nuts from Hard-To-Find-Fasters on 10 Jul 17 and there were 10 tee nuts in the package. The nuts are 5/8" deep which means this is the length of hole you have to drill. The nuts are sturdy, well finished, and deeper than most. But the three mounting hole are only about 5/64" in diameter. I had to drill them out to 7/64" to put in screws with any meaningful holding power. product. ORIGINAL: If you are securing tee nuts to the back of a mounting surface, then you can probably get by with using small nails for mounting if you want, or even cheaper pronged tee nuts. When this method is used, the bolt goes into the back-end of the tee nut and pulls broad end into the back of the mounting surface - making the tee nut forever tight and secure. The product description advised using a 25/64" drill for installing the tee nut. However, I found out that a 3/8" bit (which is actually slightly smaller) works perfectly. This may be good news for some since 25/64" bits are generally included in large drill bit sets only.

was looking for one with a fit a longer screw and platform to fit for the table leg so had to make some adjustment ,, leg is heavy just hope it will hold

If this is what you need, it will work nicely

Perfect for my application: 1/4-20 threads for a device that has to mount to a photo tripod. The flat sides make it easy to mount in a way that prevents the piece from turning. It is sufficiently well-made -- neither a masterpiece of craftsmanship nor cheap junk. If you need this part, you already know it and are glad to have finally found it. If you don't know why you would need this, you don't need it.

Perfect Solution

This item worked great for my application. I wanted to mount a Dog Silencer on a camera tripod but the manufacturer said there was no way to do it. I found that by using this fastener I could mount this tee-nut inside the Dog Silencer case and then use the standard 1/4-20 mounting provided by a camera tripod to hold the unit in place. Works great!

Not heavy duty

This T Nut fastener is fairly lite duty,so if you are thinking of using these to support or anchor something heavy find something more heavy duty these are pretty light weight
