Best for beginners and anyone. Why do some Cressi mask kits have a crudy snorkel, then you must buy this one to replace it?

Feels great

I am a relatively new snorkeled. I did it once a few years ago and decided before this trip I want a snorkle with a splash guard valve. This fits the bill and is also super flexible and feels comfy in my mouth. So far I love it. I think it’s a keeper.

Excellent Dry Snorkel for Occasional Use

I’ve bought over 50 of the Super Nova dry snorkels for my business. They are 100% dry at the surface with the mouth being the only water access point. Using lips to seal out water results in a completely dry snorkel experience, so this is an excellent snorkel for beginners. If the floater door jams in an upright position, neither water nor air will enter, making it impossible to use. Just don’t get sand or other debris in the snorkel, and rinse after use to prevent salt build up inside dry mechanism at top. If jammed, stick a safety clip or needle thru the bottom vent to apply gentle upward pressure on the black floater, and this should release stuck sand or debris. Removing any sand unlodges the stuck floater mechanism, so the snorkel is as good as new. The number one complaint I have as a business owner with this snorkel is that with frequent use, the plastic between the splash guard and clear cage around the dry mechanism at the top ALWAYS brittles and breaks, rendering the entire snorkel useless. It’s unlikely this would happen with less frequent use and care to prevent banging around the dry mechanism. This brittling and breakage occurs within 2-3 months of heavy use (48 times a month, so about 100 - 150 uses). Unfortunately, Cressi does not make this part interchangeable or replaceable, so we have bo choice but discard dozens of them quarterly. Cressi should address this problem to create a superior version truly worthy of the warranty. Overall, I highly recommend this snorkel for a dry experience at the surface. It’s somewhat less reliably dry when duck diving, but still, at least 75% when submerged under water. So it’s a great choice and excellent value for the average snorkeler.

Worked great for the first year and a half

Bought Oct 2019. The tube lived up to its description, and I had a great time snorkeling in warm waters with it. Most recently though (March 2021), the mechanism at the top that stops water from getting in, seems to have jammed and would often lock so that air wouldn't get in either, unless I shimmied the snorkel around. Slightly dangerous, but I'm not sure what exactly it going on or how easily it can be repaired. Need to snorkel again with it.

It came stuck

Almost sent it back. And I was extremely frustrated at this point because I ordered a full snorkel set from cressi, and it was missing this part so rather than arguing with Amazon that they sent something with a missing piece I just ordered it and bit the bullet. It didn’t work. I could exhale but I couldn’t inhale. Turns out the plastic piece inside was stuck. Eventually I figured it out and now it works flawlessly. Still a 5 star item so I’m not docking it for that

cuidado con el tubo de snorker

tengan cuidado con este tubo de snorkear, se bloqueo en la valvula superior y no permitio el acceso de aire. Me ocurrio despues de que una ola me revolco cerca de la orilla ...quise respirar y ya no permitio el acceso de aire...esta mal diseñado el tubo.

Excellent cheap option, especially for people with larger face

Used it for scuba diving, liked it’s flexible neck so it fits the mouth comfortably and shielded waves very well
