A Note About Color

Just an FYI on pants color. Ordered 'Fossil' color pants and while the picture shows them to be almost white (off-white) the pants are more of a light beige color or light khaki. Computer monitors are all different so it's not surprising. I am very pleased as I wanted a slightly darker color anyway. Ordered the 'City Grey' and they are slightly lighter in color which I also preferred. All good. Lighter weight material than previous versions but they should be great Spring, Summer, Fall all-around pants. Love the materials stretch.

Good pants, but could be so much better

I tried a few pairs of Columbia’s ROC pants in black and khaki in 34, 35, and 36 sizes. These are good pants and a solid choice if you can overlook some drawbacks: (1) The velcro closures on the side and back pockets are very small. It’s a challenge to line them up to close securely. Velcro closures on a pant at this price point are an odd design choice to begin with, but then to make them so tiny seems like a “bean counter” choice as well. Buttons or zippers on the pockets would have looked better and been more functional. (2) The fabric holds dirt, lint, and pet hair. Other reviewers have mentioned this as well. If you own pets that shed, do not under any circumstances order black. Otherwise, these are just fine. Swap out the velcro for a nicer alternative and tighten the weave a bit, and they would be darn near perfect.

Super Comfortable

Great pants overall. They look nice enough to wear to dinner or the office, but are comfortable and durable enough to wear for fishing/hiking pants.

Sometimes size is labelled incorrectly

I recently ordered three pairs of Columbia ROC pants, all 32-inch waist and 32-inch inseam but different colors. I tried on one pair, and it fit fine. Unfortunately, I assumed all pants from the same manufacturer, same pants model, with the same size tag would fit the same. After washing all three pairs, I discovered that the gray pair fit very differently that the other two. It was one or two sizes larger. Since I already washed the gray pants, I couldn't return them. The main lesson here is to try on each pair of pants even if they are from the same manufacturer, the same model, and labelled the same size.

Pantalón perfecto. Aunque en pantalla parece café, en vivo parece un poco verdoso-café. El año pasado había comprado uno igual (pero de otro color), y aunque son de la misma medida este resultó un poquitín más grande, pero por mí está bien, dado que el anterior estaba un poquitín pequeño. Es inevitable, siempre hay pequeñas variaciones aunque sean de la misma medida, pero eso no le quita estrellas en lo absoluto.
