Works as intended

Picked one of these up for my Axl Advanced belt and it does the job. Haven't tried to put a major load on it, just 2 full rifle mags and 2 pistol + loaded P220 and then ran around the backyard trying to induce failure, nothing fell off and nothing came unbuckled. Guess that's a test to the belt/pouches/holster as well as the buckle, but this is for the buckle so... HEY, IT'S GREAT, BUY THIS! ...Or something

best buckle around

I have several of these. I use them to replace buckles on really important things. this 1" buckle was added to a fanny pack that holds critical personal items at music festivals. it wont break and it's hard for most people to even know who to open it and try to steal you bag. but I mainly use a 1.5" buckle (5k lbs rating) on a rigger's belt as my everyday belt. This things get "stronger" under stress and can't release without breaking because the hinges are inverted and get tighter as you pull. your belt will be the first thing to break, not this buckle. The operation of the release is very easy to do. it's surprising that you can have something so strong and resistant to opening, yet grab it with two finger in the right way and it comes off like a breeze. super secure, yet easy to operate...its a dream. Ive been wearing everyday for a few years now and I wont go back to normal buckles every again.

Yep good stuff

I have trusted my weight to this, and it works great. I don't like how the adjustable side is super loose and the metal rattles around and moves a lot. That tolerance could be tightened up I assume. However, it does give the versatility to pass doubled up tubular webbing through it. I used this buckle in a homemade ultralight linemans belt/harness with leg loops, using only 1" tubular climb webbing. Works great, and you can't get more minimal, and it's more comfortable than a hasty rope harness for sure. It's super quick to take on and off and way cheaper than harnesses you have to buy.
