It’s basically just apple cider vinegar.
In my opinion, you’re better off just using the old apple cider vinegar Dawn dish soap trick. While this wasn’t a total bust, the results weren’t great. I ended up placing my dawn concoction on the other side of the counter, and it caught substantially more flies. So for me, this isn’t something we need, and we will stick with the old method.

Worked alright
Worked about as well as just making it yourself at home with apple cider vinegar and a drop of dish soap

Surprisingly effective
Last summer I was inundated with fruit flies and had no real way of dealing with them. As anyone who's contended with them know, they're super fast and hard to squash because they zip away before you can nail them. So I was keen to try this trap. But this year I didn't have anything close to the problem I did last year, so I had to wait until they showed up to try it out. That has now happened. Inside this little plastic jar is what smells like vinegar. For all I know, that may be all it is. At first I didn't think it was doing much. I saw one dead fruit fly floating on the surface, which wasn't especially impressive. But then, after I'd had the lid off for a couple of weeks, I noticed more on the bottom of the jar. And a few days ago, when I opened a container destined for the composter and a bunch of fruit flies flew out, I checked a day or two later, and lo and behold, there were a bunch of dead flies in the bottom and none flying around my kitchen. So I've concluded that it works, and with minimal effort. Definitely worth trying!

Works well but the smell is strong
This product works as advertised and as intended. Within an hour of opening the container and placing it in my kitchen there were fruit flies inside. It does however have a very strong vinegar smell which I did not experience with other products.

Noticeable Smell But Works
The Family & Pet-Friendly Bug Botanist Fruit Fly Trap: Natural Indoor Fruit Fly Killer in 5.4oz size is doing well what is intended for it It shipped well with minimal packaging and no damage. All the need-to-know information is clearly printed and included to be read on the label. To start using you simply shake it up, peel twist the lid open, peel the sealing label off, and place it in the desired location. I will point out that the inner liquid it filled up quite high. It is an open jar and with its fullness, one should take plenty of care not to accidentally slosh it around and make a mess all over the countertop. It does have a vinegar smell that's quite noticeable. It is very convenient and it's easy to use. If you don't want to be making your own traps and having to find the ingredients and container to do so this is a great option. It lasts about 3 weeks or until it is full. I'm glad to have this around where we keep our fruit stored in the kitchen. No more pesky fruit flies to bother us when were are in the kitchen or around our dining area.

These are pointless and they do not work at all.

it's OK, but not a repeat option for me ...
at the point that this was done (you will know when it has given up, it's gross) there were probably 7 or 8 dead tiny flies in it. it was out until it was 'done'. while it was out i threw away any other options i had, like sticky things that i put in the plants. after i disposed of this i put the sticky paper things back out and in a day had loads of little dead buggies. that told me that even this had caught a small amount, it had missed way many more. and i didnt love it so much just sitting on the windowsill. it's kind of unsightly and you just smell vinegar whenever you are near it. so yea, it did catch a small amount of annoyances - but not enough for me to keep it going.

Way too overpriced
This review is for Bug Botanist Fruit Fly Trap: Natural Indoor Fruit Fly Killer, Family & Pet Friendly, 5.4oz Container first of all this thing smells horrible. It is definitely way too overpriced for the small amount which you would be able to only use for a couple of days if you are not a disgusting person. You cannot leave this on the counter for more than I would say two or three days because it would look too disgusting to even look at it where a bunch of flies floating on it. I threw it in the garbage the next day.
