Make sure of right hand or left hand hose winding!

Unfortunately my hose is wound left hand, as I discovered when I attempted to install the right hand Clamps and they did not fit. I did get some left hand Clamps after that and they fit perfectly. (With left hand winding, the steel coil winds to the left away from you as you look down the hose.)

They are nice hose clamps, with a bridge so that they won't crimp steel-reinforced flexible dust collection hose. BUT if you are thinking of using them with the Amazon Choice 2.5" Dust Collection HosePOWERTEC 70129 2-1/2-Inch x 10-Foot Flexible PVC Dust Collection Hose, Clear Color , DON'T! These are made for a right-hand spiral hose; the hose mentioned above has a left-hand spiral, which, confusingly, is not mentioned in its description. For that hose you need Left Hand Bridge clampsPOWERTEC 70224 Keyed Left Hand Bridge Hose Clamp (5 Pack), 2-1/2" . How do I know? ... Umm ... Because I bought the Right Hand ones by mistake, returned them, and got the Left Hand ones.

Remind me why I bought these?

I don't remember why I bought these. So they sit there on my parts shelf, mocking me with their shiny metal loop and pretty blue knobs. Oh wait! Now I remember. I'm gonna use them to couple some parts on a size adapter for the dust collection system in my workshop. Only suckers use nut drivers or screwdrivers to adjust their hose clamps. 5 stars!

Work as intended. A little bit obnoxious tightening them up due to how close the knobs are to the hose, but for a permanent dust collection system it is a minor inconvenience.

Easy as Pie

Very easy to use. It took a minute or two to make sure the clamp was lined up properly, but once you figure it out, it’s a no-brainer
