A must have for bamboo steaming

These are wonderful for cooking! I debated because they are a little pricier than a roll of parchment paper but sooo much more convenient, easy, and less wasteful than cutting circles out of parchment paper and poking holes to make my own liner. Originally I got these for cooking for my husband and I but since then we have decided to make our own baby food as well for our little one and these are wonderful! I have a two tiered steamer and when cooking for the little one, these make it so easy and quick to rotate through several different veggies. I just throw one of these in the steamer basket, add my veggies for the little one, steam then lift the veggies and the liner out and repeat. These make it so i don't have to wash the steamer between foods. In fact, I haven't even needed to wash the steamer yet with these. Just rinse it when I'm done. (I haven't cooked meat with them yet so that might require a better clean). They fit great in my ten inch bamboo steamer. I got my steamer at the local Asian market so it is not a Joyce Chen steamer but these fit and work wonderfully.

I had trouble making shumai in my steamer: leave it in too long and the wrapper becomes a gooey mess, take it out too soon and the filling isn't hot. These steaming papers solve the problem handily. I can steam the food thoroughly and the wrapper stays together; it doesn't stick to the basket and tear. I have a rice cooker with plastic steamer basket, not a bamboo one.

Joyce, thank you so much for making these 26-0060 Steaming Papers. They are amazing! My daughter went off to college and I couldn't figure out how she kept her dumpling things from sticking to to the wood thing. I tried cutting up an old handkerchief and using it, but the oil and grease flavors the handkerchief had on it were a bit too much for my pallette. Sylvia (My daughter) called me about 5 months ago and told me I needed to buy some steaming papers. It took me a month or two to get to the library and log on to the internet. I ordered the papers and they showed up really fast (I don't know how you do it!). We're talking like 2 days! Anyways, I've been at the library a little too long now and probably need to go home. Thank you again Joyce!

If you hate scraping seafood from your steamer, this is a must

I steamed some salmon the other week. While everything tasted great, a lot of the fish was stuck to my steamer. It wasn't a really big deal until it came time to wash my All Clad steamer. While scrubbing the steamer the fish would just get lodged in the steamer holes. I learned my lesson and will use these liners for my All Clad or bamboo steamers. There are small holes in the sheets that allow the steam to rise. Although all the holes in the sheets may not line up with your exact steamer there will still be enough steam to cook your food. However, I have not tried more than 2 layers of steamers at once and how that would effect the top layer. I will certainly buy more when I start to run low.

Work fine but Overpriced

The sheets work well. They are much thinner than the normal parchment paper. BUT, I think it's well overpriced. If sold in a store, it would be at most 3 dollars (I paid $6.99 with prime shipping)... So, I'm going to stick with my parchment paper.

Not just for bamboo steamers. I use these in my stovetop smoker!

I do not have a bamboo steamer, but I love to make dumplings and other delicate steamed Chinese foods. I do have a Nordic Ware stove top Kettle smoker and these are a perfect fit! I can put water in the bottom of the smoker and use it as a steamer! Best of all, I can smoke dumplings, pot stickers and won ton. The papers prevent the delicate foods from sticking to the smoker tray. These papers are also great for steaming in regular stove top steaming baskets, on racks over fry pans and pots too.

Keeps the bamboo cleaner and makes cleaning up a little easier.

I use the steaming trays a few times every week and anything that helps to cut down on the work is worthwhile. These liners do seem to keep the trays cleaner and the are cut perfectly so they fit exactly inside the tray. They are a little pricy but the cost is worth the convenience.

Have only used for potstickers so far. They were excellent; I browned the bottoms in a skillet after steaming for 15min (from frozen. I bought these because they were new to me and I'll probably find more uses as I reacquaint myself with steaming.
