I don’t know why, but my dog loves this toy
I have a 16 lb. Pomsky and he is spoiled. I got this toy for him because of the great reviews. He loves this toy. He is a heavy chewer, and most plush toys don’t stand a chance. I load the squirrels up in the log and he loves to stick his nose in a hole, grab a squirrel and then shake until it comes out. Repeat three times then try to grab all the squirrels at once to gather. He loves to squeak them and then bring to me to throw. Flying squirrel!!! After awhile he will look at the log and whine, so I pick up the squirrels, reload and repeat. I do take it away when I’m not around so they don’t get destroyed which might make it more fun since he doesn’t have it all the time. Overall, great purchase. I highly recommend it even if you have a heavy chewer who destroys all things plush.

BUY IT!
We got the XL for our Golden Retriever puppy and it has been a lifesaver!! When he gets in his "bitey, puppy teeth" moods, we make sure he has a squirrel handy to pop into his mouth. If he seems bored, I will gather up his squirrels and put them back in the log so he can pull them all back out again. I did order a replacement set of 3 as some seem to have disappeared (probably upstairs or in the couch). We probably didn't need the XL, but I am glad that we got it. If he is in a very playful mood, he will grab the log and shake it. We have had this for almost 2 months and none of the squeakers have been ripped out...yet. That tells me they are sturdy.

Sharing is caring
It’s the second time I order this toy because my 54lbs Siberian Husky LOVES IT, also make sure you order some replacements of squirrels. My baby after taking all the squirrels out of the tree literally goes and give one squirrel to my man, one to my child, one to me and she keeps another one. Then picks them up from us one by one to lay in her bed while placing them as they are her puppies (as far as she gets bored and breaks them to find out what’s that provoking the noise inside of them). ITS SO CUTE!!! Btw, visitor that comes, visitor that is welcomed by the squirrels since my dog feels the necessity to introduce them as well, putting them on their lap as fast as they sit down lol

Our King Charles Cavaliers LOVE them!
We bought these for our king charles cavalier, Paisley, who loves a softer ball. (The other one prefers a tennis ball.) And they are a big hit. Unfortunately, Paisley knows where the stash is and is slowly getting us to give him most of them to play with simultaneously. He is now keeping one in every room and walks around with one in his mouth constantly so he can drop it at our feet for a throw whenever possible. We highly recommend them.

Cute Little Squirrels!
I bought my chihuahua the Outward Hound Tree with the squirrels inside of it about 6 years ago - and she just loves the little squirrels - so I ended up buying her the slightly larger squirrels and she also loves there! She loves to throw them with her mouth and play fetch with herself - or she also loves to being them to me and have me throw them as far across the house as I can to retrieve them and bring them back. She eventually will tear them apart to “kill” the squeakers - but they are worth the price point and the enjoyment she has with them.

Tough Little Skwerls
I bought these at the same time as I bought the Kyjen Hide-A-Squirel toy as I have 3 dogs and I figured at least one of the squirrels would get lost pretty quick leaving the dogs to squabble over the other two reamining squirrels. Ironically, all three of these squirrels are still present and accounted for though they are showing a bit of wear at this point. They are also covered with dog spit but as they are dog toys that is to be expected. I have 2 medium sized dogs and one huge dog. Two of the dogs play with these toys EVERY DAY and after almost 3 months they squirrels are just now starting to show noticeable wear. My dogs love to dissect their toys and remove the squeaker. If I am on the ball I find the squeaker and tie it up in a couple of pairs of old socks and return it to the dogs. This solves two problems: 1. The dogs are unable to injest the squeker and 2. I no longer feel obligated to try to find the mates to those socks. The dogs also love the squeaky sock toys and wiill still play with the squeakerless squirrel toy carcasses so this is truly a win-win situation. At this point, 2 of the 6 total squirrels I ordered are sans squeaker. Three out of the six are showing any real wear. One out of the six total looks like new, probably because it has been under the dresser for the past two months. So, these squirrels are smart as well, or at least one out of six is of above average intelligence. Well played, Kyjen, well played. These toys and the Kyjen Hide-A-Squirrel toy were all a big hit with my dogs, even with the dog that could care less about them because when I throw a squirrel for the other dogs to fetch, the dog who doesn't play with the toys chases the dogs that are running after the toy and screws with the slower dog by latching onto one of his hind legs and making him fall down. So, these toys entertain the dogs that actually play with them, the dog that couldn't care less about them, and me. That's getting the most possible bang for your buck right there! This is the first time I bought any of Kyjen's products and I would absolutely buy Kyjen products again as well as reccomend them to my dog-owning friends. These are awesome toys. Yes, the squirrels are on the small side but I was expecting that as I actually took the time to read the product description before I ordered them. My dogs do not care that the squirrels are kind of small and I don't believe that the size of the toys has any impact on their durability or function. These are awesome dog toys. If you don't get them for your dogs you are not a fun person and it's highly likely that your dog pees on you as you sleep. I sure would. I mean I would if I were your dogs. Buy the damn toys already! *HERE'S MY REVIEW OF THE KYJEN HIDE-A-SQUIRREL TOY* This review is from: Kyjen PP01056 Hide-A-Squirrel Pet Toy, Large I have 2 medium sized dogs and one giant dog and two of them love these toys. The other one likes to play with other dogs much more than she does dog toys so I'm not really surprised that she isn't that into them. The wierd dog and the giant dog LOVE these toys and play with them daily. They have taken both the squirrels and the "tree trunk" outside, played tug-of-war with them and even buried them and the toys are still looking pretty good after a couple of months of rough, frequent play. Two of the squirrels are now without their squeakers as the giant dog loves to dissect them and remove the squeakers. This isn't a problem, I actually expected he would have removed all of the squeakers by now and I bought three additional squirrels because I really expected these toys to wear out much more quickly. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well they are hanging in there. Of the six squirrels I ordered five are present and accounted for and the dogs play with all of them, even the ones giant dog has disemboweled. Yes, the squirrels are on the small side. I was not surprised by this as I took the time to read the complete product description. I don't know how well other larger dogs would like these toys, my giant dog is touched in the head but very smart and he loves them despite the size. I have never ordered Kyjen products before ordering this Hide-A-Squirrel toy and the replacement toys and I am thrilled that the toys are of such good qulaity and that my dogs are getting lots of "play" out of them. Even the one dog that doesn't like toys that much is entertained by them as she likes to chase the dogs that are playing with the toys and try to chew their legs off as they run. All my dogs are entertained and entertained dogs are dogs that are not running all over the neighborhood humping everything in sight or chewing holes in my socks. I would absolutely order Kyjen products again and I would order from this seller again. My items arrived one day before they were due and were packed appropriately. I would also reccommend both Kyjen and this seller to other dog owners and have already told my sister about these toys and how awesome they are. If I could give this product and this seller more than five stars I so would!

Big toy for a big boy
My dog loves this toy and carries it all over the house. He doesn’t destroy toys, just likes to carry them. I bought this because we had a similar milk & cookies toy and he couldn’t get the cookies out because his snout was too big. He can get the squirrels if he wanted to, but he hasn’t tried yet. Have had it for a few weeks. My little dogs like the little squirrels inside.

Squeaky Squirrels=puppy love
I have a 7lb Pomeranian who lives to play and LOVES his toys. This has quickly become a favorite. The tree stump has the squirrels inside and the challenge is to get them out. They squeak and are the perfect size. Great fun and value

Great for senior dogs!
This was a birthday present for my lab mix, turned 14. She has always been obsessed with squirrels in the park, but she is no longer as young as she used to be so she can’t sprint after them anymore (she can barely see them these days). Her face when she got this was pure joy; she finally has ALL THE SQUIRRELS!!! We throw a few small cookies down the log and she goes to town. She adores it! Thank you for a brilliant soft toy; it’s making this elderly squirrel chaser very happy!

Caution- Do not Leave outdoors overnight
Be careful, we bought this for our dog who left it out in the garden overnight only to discover that 3 chipmunks decided to use it as their home, they refused to let our dog have it back. If anyone knows Alvin, Simon or Theodore, tell them I’m not happy and that I’m looking for them with my chipmunk trap cage.

This is the best and most loved dog toy ever!
My lab. has had it since he was 5 months old - he is now 1 year - and he absolutely loves it; it is definitely his favourite. He uses it for play by himself, to pick up and carry in his mouth when he’s excited greeting people arriving or coming down first thing in the morning, to nudge us into playing hide the squirrel with him (hide under pillows and squeak or stick your hand in the trunk and poke a squirrel out) - there are lots of ways to play. He did chew it at first, removed the cardboard base (but it still stands up so no problem) and tear it a bit, but it’s easy to repair and he doesn’t chew it any more. It gives him, and us, hours of pleasure. The best toy ever.

Squirrels ???? galore! Hilarious ????????????????????????
Placed it on the floor with a few treats hidden at the bottom under the squirrels.... pups were totally disinterested... so I went out the room.... heard a few squeaks (squirrels, not dogs) and came back to find squirrels everywhere!!! The fact they squeak makes the dogs back off... then they come back doing an sas style crawl (dogs, not squirrels) for round two! My older girl rottie then picks up the whole thing and hides it when she’s decided she’s tired so no one can play any more.... ???????????????? Xx

No squirrels were harmed in this review...
Our 3 year old Labradoodle (more poodle than Lab) is a "power chewer" - nothing escapes total destruction (unless she totally ignores it) so I was a little worried about buying this for her. I ordered the ginormous size to be on the safe side; it comes with 6 squirrels so enough for spares if some didn't make it to see another day (she gets through toys for strong chewers in a matter of minutes). We have been very controlled in introducing and playing this with her (we started with just 3 squirrels but she's worked her way up to 6) and she doesn't play with it on her own just in case, but oh how she loves it. So far we have focused on simply finding the squirrels with no need to load the tree trunk with treats. She has discovered the squeaks which fuels her play but she is also learning to 'give' and 'drop' (with treat rewards for safe delivery of squirrels); she is also learning to bring the tree back for re-filling. I don't doubt that, left to her own devices, this toy would be shredded extremely quickly; if your dog is so inclined, and if you don't have the time or desire to engage in managing their play then you might be disappointed with how long this item lasts. If you are happy to supervise/be involved in their play, then I'd highly recommend this toy.
