Easy to assemble

Good, But with 2 Big Flaws

This is why I don't write reviews 10-seconds after purchase like sellers want you to. I have had this sorter for two years, Its great, mostly, with two flaws that I feel other consumers should know about. 1. Slowly falls apart. Since this is held together with tension, instead of screws/bolts/nails - regular use will make the rods slowly wiggle free, about once a month or so I check and usually find it's loose - or I'm too late and the rack has partially collapsed. Someone who doesn't plan to move may want to just glue this together or run a few screws in it. 2. Lining Shreds. The bags are made of mesh and canvas, the canvas panels are coated with plastic or vinyl on the inside, and after first month that lining started to disintegrate. Periodically I find strips of the vinyl in my laundry, more than half has sloughed off at this point. And to clarify, this is a laundry hamper, only soft clothes go in there. My clothes don't have spikes. The way the lining is shredding you'd think I was washing nothing but rocks and knives. Picture is of my leaset-used bag, so it's only shredding a little.

Good

Bags are kinda small and the fabric feels cheap but that's expected for the price. Does the job. Makes laundry easier for my husband and i. He has a bag, i have a bag and then we use the 3rd bag for towels and other household laundry. Exactly what i needed instead of 3 separate laundry baskets taking up space.

Dimensions are why we kept this one

This was my third choice and only because of the width that was true to the description, so it worked for our space. I would highly recommend the simple houseware heavy duty 3 bag sorter if the size dimensions work for you. It was excellent quality and very sturdy, but was slightly wider than we needed unfortunately. Can't say enough for quality and price of it. Second would be the storage maniac 3 bag sortor which also was very well made. Both of these had six horizontal stabilizing bars that greatly increase the sturdiness. As for this one, it's not as stable due to only four horizontal bars, but for our application it works due to the true width. I do appreciate the accurate measurements provided by the household essential product and the overall final product put together is functional. When you put the casters on the other two brands, the measurements do not hold true (adds to the width/depth) so unfortunately both of them were returned. Just being honest that the lack of additional stabilizing bars, lesser quality wheels (basic plastic on these, other brands had heavier duty rubber/molded ones), and the attachment features were lacking compared to others (snap locking via push buttons and screws holding it together, vs the style provided for this one). I would purchase the other two before this one since the price points were the same/actually less. This one needs to be a lower price for the manner in which its crafted and the material provided.

Not as sturdy as I'd like and bags do not sit level as pictured

Overall function of the product is OK. Wheels move on solid level surface and the material seems strong. I can already see wear near the metal bars. The whole thing moves just a bit too much and seems unstable when empty or partially filled.

Worst directions

Worst directions!! It took me double the time it would have if the directions were more clear, but once I took put it together correctly on the third try it works great.

Just Like The Photo

I just finished putting this together and the laundry sorter looks exactly like the photo. No surprises! All the pieces were present and nothing was crushed or out of sorts. There was even a little hex wrench provided for the screws. One thing I would highly recommend is to get an electric screwdriver with a hex tip. It'll make the assembly much easier on your fingers and hands and will reduce your assembly time by at least 50%. Oh, and the vertical supports get inserted into the arched pieced BEFORE you start bolting on the horizontal bars. Not that I had to undo any of my handiwork once I took a closer look at the pieces. Nope, not me. All in all, even with my learning curve issues, it took less than 20 minutes to put the whole thing together and I found that inserting the support handles into the bag loops was actually the most difficult part of the job. The bag fabric is plastic lined and is made of a relatively lightweight canvas-like nylon. I think the three bags will do the job of sorting and holding my dirty laundry but I wouldn't be surprised if the seams started to unravel or burst after a while. The bags hang freely and there's no support shelf underneath so don't stuff the bags full with heavy items or else the support arms may bend and fail. Though this is not a heavy-duty laundry sorter it seems well put together and worth the cost. Treat it nicely and it should serve you well.

Sturdy and Roomy

Each section holds a full, but not too-large load of laundry. The height is great; the bags are an arm-length deep, but no more, so I can get things back out. Each section can be carried separately to the wash very easily. I messed up the assembly by not paying attention and put one wheel pointing up. A little bit of twisting made it come apart easily, and once I had it fully assembled properly, a final push locked all the joints in tightly. Does what it says it will do. Very nice.

Joints are not too secure and pop out from time to time.

The joints are not too solid and sometimes pop out of the sockets especially when it's rolled around. But it's easy to put back and does what I need it to do which is organize my dirty laundry.

Great useful product.

Just perfect, looks great, easy assembly and makes transfer to washing machine easy. I like that I have a separate bag for coloureds, whites and dark items. It’s exactly how it was displayed on line, was well packaged and arrived on time as it was communicated via email. It’s exactly what I needed.
