Love it
I purchased 2 of these to add spare tires under my brand new travel trailer. The trailer originally had the single spare on the rear bumper but since I plan to haul small items I didn't want anything on the rear bumper. I purchase these and a second spare to put them under the trailer instead. It took some time to figure out how to install these under the trailer but once I did I love it. These things work great for raising and lowering the tire without me having to get on the ground or under the trailer. I purchased Lippert 119226 Fifth Wheel Landing Gear Manual Crank Handle to use with the winch for lowering or raising the tires. Overall these things are great and are definitely a space saver by putting the tires underneath. Time will tell regarding durability but so far so good. I would definitely recommend purchasing for anyone looking to move a spare tire underneath.

Make a bracket to hold tire up.
Winch works well, but it can let the tire drop or just unwind. if we see it, we wind it back up. We have had this problem several times. but if we don't, the tire will hit the park block on the parking pad, SNAP. We have a fifth wheel tire is an 235-80r16. New tire winch installed and winch - tire was tight and in the up position. With the hour drive the winch cable - tire dropped, park block hit tire and snapped cable. Grrrrrr. I also blame the camper manufacture for not designing a better retainer to hold the tire up. Sure, use the lift to lift and lower, but have some bracket to hold the tire up in place. Well, i made the bracket, using 1/2" threaded rod.

Winch worked well, installed easy.
install was ok. Winch cable seems sturdy. 4 strs is because once you get the tire drawn up to the top, you have to keep cranking it like 3-4 more revolutions to get it tight enough the tire doesn't scoot around with slight touch by hand. For the money, I bought 2 of them for the 2 spares that came with my toy hauler, did the job. Hope i never need them on the side of the road. BUT, these winches will defiantly keep them out of the back of my Duramax when the family goes camping.

Came with broken plastic parts
It aligned perfectly with the two bolts that hold the original manufacturers spare tire to the rear end of my 42 foot RV. However, it came with broken plastic parts probably due to packaging. I have to wonder how long the cable will last exposed to the weather.

Where does spare go in a custom pickup? Under the frame with this spare winch. Installing a challenge but not fault in design. Custom means custom. Good product
