Almost perfect!

Only thing I would change is having the plexiglass being able to open far enough so one can turn a page in the cookbook without having to remove the book first.

Be careful, the acrylic splash guard can come cracked or fractured...I think this is caused by the way it is shipped. The wooden base can press up against the acrylic and break it. *UPDATE* After filing a complaint this company shipped me a new, unbroken model in 24 hrs free of charge, and has allowed me to ship the broken one back hassle free. I have changed my rating from a 1 star to a 4 star. Thank you!!

Nice, but plexi is fragile.

Crate and Barrel sells the same thing for more $, so this is a better deal, but I agree with other reviewers that the plexi cracks easily. Mine got a microcrack in the place it rests against the frame the first time I used it, but I still like it.

Adequate but limited utility

I wanted a stand that had an adjustable angle, and an acrylic front, that still allowed page turning. Turns out this stand is not adjustable to change the viewing angle, and it’s too horizontal for my viewing height. I put an unloved book behind my cookbooks and that helps to create a more upright view. Also, it’s awkward to turn pages in the book when it’s on the stand, because the bottom rises up when the front acrylic piece is lowered on its hinge, so it isn’t perfect for that either. It’s OK for small books- the acrylic won’t cover books over 12” wide when opened. The stand takes up around 8” of space on the counter, which is a lot, but it’s easy to fold up and store when not in use. Overall, kind if just OK, but it wasn’t too expensive either, so a trade off. I also bought a more expensive stand with similar promoted features, but it didn’t store easily, do decided to keep this one and adapt to its shortcomings.

Nicely mad and versatile

I got this primarily for use with cookbooks, not only to stand them up for ease of use, but for the shield to protect the pages. I have since found that this comes in very handy for any book to be read hands-free. I am currently also using this to hold a crochet pattern book - I simply set it up on my ottoman, grab my project and sit back to craft comfortably.

Nice quality, tilt not actually adjustable, one option of tilt

This cookbook holder is nice quality. The plastic cover is great. The only issue is the back support only stays completely back or completely down. It is not adjustable to change the tilt of the cookbook. It would be better if it was an actual adjustable tilt. I prefer a more upright standing cookbook. I was able to makeshift the tilt with a large rubber band.
