Nice pizza cutter, easy care, not super high end

I bought this after our previous pizza cutter went MIA. I think it ended up in a pizza box and then out to the trash. Oops. I like the Kitchenaid name and the fact that this cutter prominently says it is dishwasher safe. We've got a busy household with kids and anything I can skip handwashing is a win in my book. It's also a plus that this was available in fun colors - too many kitchen utensils are just black and stainless This cutter has a reasonably nice handle, solid heft, and a large thumb guard. We have run it through the dishwasher several times (LPT: pre-rinse the wheel to make sure it gets completely clean in the dishwasher) and haven't noticed any cracking in the enamel or pitting in the stainless. The wheel is sharp and cuts well, we'll see how it holds up over time. Some minor cons: the wheel isn't especially large, which doesn't make it feel very premium. It works fine but doesn't have the look of a more expensive cutter (though admittedly it looks nicer than the $3 one at the grocery store). The handle isn't super ergonomic. Again, it works, but it feels like it could have a better shape or different thumb guard for when you need to apply more pressure to cut. Lastly, they cheaped out by not providing any sort of cover or guard for the wheel to protect it and you when it's being stored. Overall I like this cutter, it's almost perfect and pretty good for the price.

This is the one.

When my not-quite-all-metal pizza wheel failed at the internal plastic joint that held the wheel onto the handle, I gave up on handheld pizza wheels, and I bought one of those large 2-handed pizza rocker blades - the type that looks like it might be used by Klingons for sport fighting. Unfortunately, that had to be rocked back and forth, repeatedly, with precision and force that made it uncomfortably awkward. Many slices remained stuck to their siblings. Eventually I decided I didn't care if that's how restaurants do it, it wasn't working out for me. So, I turned once again back to pizza wheels, reasoning that there must be one out there that was sturdy enough to cut my pizza right, without worrying about a brittle handle joint failing on me. This was the one. Now my pizza gets sliced correctly the first time. No recuts. No worrying about a hollow plastic handle taking on water in the dishwasher. Pizza makers, look no further.

Very useful kitchen tool

This is a fine pizza cutter. It takes SO much less effort to slice the pizza with this wheel than with even a very good knife. And when you hear that *crunch* through the edge of the crust it sounds exactly like in a real pizzeria! If you remove the plastic sleeve covering the blade very carefully, you can replace it for storage to protect both the edge and your fingers. I don't think they meant it for long-term use beyond packaging, though, and it's a little tricky. Easy as can be to clean; it just goes into the dishwasher.

Sharpe wheel and large enough to cut pizza without dragging ingredients.

Nice large wheel that rolls smoothly and cuts all the way through the pizza without dragging the ingredients instead of cutting them in two. Works way better than a knife or a pizza cutting rocker blade. I know the rocker blade is safer to use in the restaurants, but I miss my pizza slices cut all the way through. I use this to recut the pizzas delivered along with pizza’s made at home. Works great and stays sharp.

Well Dade and Works Great

I kept my old way longer than I should have so bought a new one. Makes a big difference using this cutter. Hope this one lasts as long as the last one.

Amazing buy! Absolute Must Have.

Love this, cuts pizza very well! Such a great price for Kitchen Aid, and I absolutely love the “robin egg blue handle”. Washes extremely well in the dishwasher or by hand! Definitely a must buy if you’re looking for the right pizza cutter! I would recommend this to anyone, and I’ve already bought the matching strainer from the same collection!

Great Little Product

It cuts the pizza easily and is very sturdy in the hand. I place my thumb on the guard to add force when cutting. Wheel feels sharp and the rivet holding the wheel seems sturdy. Used it on 15 pizza till now and it was easy to cut, easy to clean and did the job well.. The handle feels solid and at the end of it i just threw it in the dishwasher....
