Ineffective elastic band

I ordered this to replace a larger version that was too big and would not fit snugly despite being within the measurements listed. This medium version does not fit either it is too rigid and the elastic will not stretch enough to fit my on all four sides of my ac. I think the problem is the sizing and stiffness of the elastic band. It is not flexible enough to snugly fit the sizes listed. If your AC is to close to the max measurements listed it will not stretch enough and if it is too close to the minimum measurements it will hang loosely and fall off. I think they need to use a better elastic band and then it will be perfect.

I have 5000 btu unit. What the heck does this cover. In no way begins to cover my unit!
