Does what I need it to do

For $250 it does a good job. I knew going in this was not going to be of the same caliber as a $1000+ FLIR, but it gets the job done. PROS: Easy to use Accurate, measured it against my infrared temp meter and they are nearly identical readings. Resolution is good- not great, but for $250 it is fine. CONS: Must remove case to attach camera- says it will work with some cases but I tried 3 different ones and did not work Could do a better job of optimizing the screen space- some of the readings are on edge of screen so hard to see them Fits kind of loose in the charging port of phone Overall this is not a bad little unit for the money. This is not a "no name" brand camera. If you want something for home use or need a thermal imager occasionally for work this is a nice little tool. I need one for work from time to time and like that it is small and portable. I have to carry a lot of tools so did not want something that took up a lot of space. This is tiny- basically the width of an Iphone 12 and only about 1.5" high. Resolution is ok. If you are fairly close to the object you are looking at 8"-2ft away, the resolution is fine. Any further you will get a heat reading but it is harder to make out what you are looking it. Mainly can just see heat signature. It does have some lag if you are moving around. You do need to let it focus for a a few seconds on the object and the picture becomes clearer. The settings are easy to understand and adjust. It will record picture and video. Saves to the unit and to your phone. Does require you to install an App for unit to function. Would buy again

This is awesome

First picture is my air register at home. Im not on a ladder im jot that close and this thing is accurate. The third picture is my kitchen ceiling that i havent insulated yet. U can see all the heat. Well worth the money

A Great Tool For Spotting Issues

Item Reviewed: Klein Tools TI222 Thermal Imager As a homeowner, it's always a struggle to figure out why certain parts of my house are colder or hotter than others. I found the thermal imager to be incredibly helpful in identifying these problem areas. The device works seamlessly with my iOS device and delivers clear, high-resolution images with its 10,800 pixels. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it could capture images and videos, including time-lapse videos, making it easy for me to share my findings with professionals. The user-selectable touchscreen temperature readouts, along with the high/low and differential temperature features, give me more control over my observations. I especially appreciated the ability to toggle between the three different color palettes, which helped me spot problem areas quickly. The ironbow, rainbow, and grayscale palettes each have their own strengths. Plus it's SOOO fun!! I could spend hours walking through the house and looking at things that put off heat that I never expected. You know, besides that cat. Which is the best. One drawback is that I had to remove your phone's case to attach the camera, which was a bit of a bummer, but I understand that this is necessary for a secure connection. That being said, the device fits snugly on my iPhone 12 without any issues. Also, it's kind of expensive, but all the quality imagers are. I'm pretty sure the thermal camera is super lower res, and they just used a smart way of matching to a camera to make it work so well. And it does work so well. Overall, the Klein Tools TI222 Thermal Imager is an excellent tool for anyone who wants to take their temperature readings to the next level. It's compact, easy to use, and helps spot problems with ease. I would highly recommend this device for anyone who wants to identify hot and cold spots around their home or workplace.

Shows object's temperatures, not night vision

This is good for checking drafty windows, HVAC vents etc. You can choose multiple areas to measure and can even take videos. It wasn't quite what I expected but if you need this it is very handy. I cannot connect the camera while my phone is in a case.
