Finally!
A can opener that actually works. A family member let me borrow theirs and I immediately purchased one for myself and threw out all my other can openers. Simple yet very effective design.

Doesn't works well on or new flat seam cans
I bought this to replace a very old Rikon Kuhn opener that recently wore out. I found this opener easy to use on the first three cans I opened, but not the fourth. I tried it it the next day and had similar results So I took two cans , one that it opened easiy, one that it skipped and struggoed with compared them. The can that opened had a very slightly thicker steel lid with a rolled seam holding the top on. The can that didn't had a thinner aluminum lid with a pull tab. These are hard for us to remove; they break my nails and hurt our fingers. The seam holding it in was rolled flat, making it thinner. I looked at all the cans in the pantry and found one with a steel lid and a flat rolled seam. It was harder to remove than the aluminum lid; the opener skipped instead of gripping. The steel lid was thinner metal. My wife got a conventional Oxo opener. This one sits in a drawer until we go to Goodwill again. I'm surprised and disappointed. This is the first Joseph produt that we weren't very happy with.

It was nice
We had originally gotten one at World Market and it worked great for years - we it started slipping its gears we ordered a new one from Amazon. Sadly it did not stand up to the expectation set by our first one and I find myself once again shopping only to see that this model has been discontinued - that makes me sad because we loved the small size of it and the ease of use. On the other had - quality had diminished so maybe it was a good thing.

Quality can opener, just a little hard to get it started.
I find this can opener does a nice job of opening my cans, but it can be a little difficult to get it started especially if you have arthritis in your hands. I think the version they make with a handle would be much better for people with arthritis. I do think the quality of Joseph and Joseph products is very good.

Compact but works very well.
I've been hunting for a very compact can opener to travel with to open my dog's food while we're on the road. Didn't know what to expect from this interesting design but I was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to use and very compact for travel. Joseph Joseph is a British company so this opener cuts the top off differently than many Americans are used to. This opener cuts along the top of the can rather than the inside lip of the top, which is different than traditional American can openers, wasn't a deal breaker for me. If you need a space saving kitchen gadget for a small kitchen, camper / camping, travel etc.. this is a really good option.

Seems okay
I bought this because I liked how compact it is and how it’s safer to open cans than a regular can opener. But since there is not handle I’ve notice it can get caught on cans labels and not have enough power to work through it and gets stuck in that spot and it is hard to move it past that or take of when this happens.

Works like a can opener should.
So, there is no case, but it comes clamped by a plastic shell which I used tape to enclose. This is useful for camping, bug out situations, and etc. Sure, I could have purchased 25 cent military can openers, but have you actually tried those? It sucks. Hurts your hands. It's light, but this thing is light too. And it's super compact. You have no handles to worry about. So how do you use it with no handles? Just pop it on the top. Screw it, and boom. Well, hey, here's something that's pretty much idiot proof. One caveat is that it's not easy to clean. I mean, all can openers have this issue. I foresee rust building up like with any other opener. I guess that's the upside to the cheap 25 cent military can openers, you can easily rinse and dry em.

Easy to use and easy to store
This is actually my second can opener. My landscaper was making me salsa one day and needed to open a can of tomatoes. He was fascinated by this opener. I have had mine for several years and couldn't remember where I got it. They are so easy to use and to store. It connects quickly and when it is done, you push the button back in and twist the handle counterclockwise, and it removes the opener from the can lid. I have used several different "handle type" can openers and this one is the best one I have found.

Best can opener!
One of the best can openers that I've used. I'm so glad I got this at a huge discount... It's amazingly easy to use and does a clean 'cut' of the tin lid.

Fits in everywhere
Works great. Very easy to use. But does make a fairly sharp edge once opened.

Je l'aime plus ou moins. Pas facile à maîtriser cette petite bête... Si vous voulez un ouvre-boîte pour la maison, vous êtes mieux avec un bon vieux modèle standard.

So Cute!
Ok, so I was skeptical of this at first, but decided to give it a try as it was a "warehouse deal". It was more expensive by a couple dollars than the traditional can opener but since those ones seem to break easily, I figured no harm done. It arrived quickly, within the window. Of course, at that point, we had no can needing opening to give it a try, so yes, the next day I actually specifically made lunch based around needing to open a can! Well, once I figured out how it works (took all of 5 seconds for my brain to function), I was amazed at how easy it was and how well it worked. This thing is compact but efficient. Took the top off completely with no jagged edges or juice spilling out of the can. Magnet held the lid until I used the button to release it. I really love this thing, and I love the design of it. One thing is, I wouldn't put this in your drawer if you have kids like mine who are always playing with kitchen stuff as the blades are exposed underneath but just like a regular can opener so you just have to be cautious. Really smooth and easy to use. I do not have any mobility issues, so I am not sure how it would work for someone with joint or hand pain or anything, but for me it is great. I hope it lasts. Much easier than the traditional ones with the thing you have to turn. This feels more ergonomic.

Compact well designed tin opener
I’ve had a couple of Joseph Joseph bathroom products and was impressed by the design and build quality. We needed a new tin opener and had tried a few electric ones. Those always seem to work fine for a short while but are difficult to clean and start slipping and malfunctioning after quite a short time period. The cheap old school manual ones are usually pretty rubbish so as we had previous good experience with Joseph Joseph thought we’d try this. I can confirm that although it’s very compact this tin opener is nevertheless easy to use and doesn’t take very much turning effort. The build quality seems good and although we’ve not had it for very long I have a feeling it will be quite durable. It doesn’t seem to get too dirty thus far probably because it’s not too over engineered. Overall it’s a thumbs up from me.
