Nope, just don't do it. -2 stars, since this tool will only let you down when you need it most.

When this works, I love it, but I'm tired of needing to get them replaced. My first purchase was several years ago and it was about the only level / protractor on the market at a good price. I purchased it through a wholesaler of industrial tools. Loved it, for almost exactly 3 years and it died about a month after the warranty expired. The manufacturer wouldn't honor the warranty at the time, so I purchased the second one 3 years and 11 months ago on Amazon. That one died about a week after the warranty expired. This time they honored the warranty and shipped me a new level in March of 2020. That one was DOA nearly straight out of the box and the manufacturer sent me another in May of 2020. Want to guess the punch line? The fourth level is dead, December of 2021. They just don't go the distance. I've gone back to the manufacturer and we'll see what they say. I don't want another, just a refund please and I'll go with another brand. We'll see what they say. 12/20/21 Remarkably, Johnson will be sending me a 5th level so good on them. Of course they may want this back and I'll send it to them if they pay for shipping. If only I could just exchange them out annually and avoid the embarrassment and hassle of having to remeasure something on a job site a second time. They might not agree to that.

They must have tool for any welder or pipe fitter. This smart level makes the job so much easier. It is very solid and well made, completely satisfied with this purchase.

cannot trust it to give you the right angle

i ordered one and got it out of the box and it did not work it would not calibrate so i sent it back they sent me one that was different then i ordered so i was like i need it so i just use this one . so started using and the angles were not matching so started checking w/ math and a good combination square and it was giving different angle readings. and it wouldnt calibrate so to sum it up if you want to pay alot of money for a angle finder and dont know how to check it to be sure it telling you right this is for you , all i got was a expensive paper wieght to hold down my blueprints oh it does have a good appearance but thats not what i needed it for i guess i could've got a bad one but 2 in a row seems a little fishy . i wouldn't reccommend it if you are looking for a ANGLE finder. thanx, Danny

Not what you think it is

Bought this item to find the angle of a movable item in relation to its fixed counterpart and does not do that. About the only thing its good for is a laser pointer....

One oversized and expensive laser pointer.

Good as a laser pointer. Angle finder is junky, only worked about 4 times then just started randomly giving readings like 668 degrees. Also the wing nut that tensions the angle arm is plastic and cracked very easily. Don't buy it.
