Clunky, large, awkward but works

Purchased to replace a manual opener and it is definitely an improvement over that. However, it is quite large, heavy and bulky. It definitely will not fit comfortably in standard size drawers without a little bit of coercion.

Excellent can opener

Small, easy to storage, rechargeable, work perfectly fine, but I didn't see any light indicator when is fully charged.... that's why I gave it only 4 stars.

Easy-to-use

I'm a teacher and got tired of hurting my hand trying to open large nacho Cheese cans for school functions. I was skeptical that something so small would actually work but it does. I wish I had bought it sooner.

Good overall; wish you could tell when the charge is running out

I've had this unit for about 8 months. I've had a hard time finding cordless can openers that will last quality-wise, so after failing several times with the one-touch types, I figured I'd try this. Overall, it's speedy and does the job. I've used it on cans from 6 oz - 28 oz without any trouble. For something as small as 6 oz (like tomato paste), you do have to hold the can or else it will tip. For others, once the cycle is started it's pretty much hands-free. Be aware that this is not a safety can opener, but for me this wasn't an issue. My only complaint is that I wish you could tell when the unit needs charging. I use it intermittently and it died completely in the middle of opening a single can. The instructions say to let the batteries fully discharge before recharging in order to prolong battery life, but this isn't exactly practical. Also, it would be nice if it had light indicator to show when a charge is complete. Still, I'm very satisfied so far.

Great little cordless can opener.

This little Hamilton Beach electric can opener is more powerful than I expected. The opener opens up 10.5 oz, 15 oz and 28 oz cans with ease (the cans I have tested so far). I haven't mastered opening a small 6 oz tomato paste can yet and I am unsure if it can (no pun intended). New users of this opener may need some time to get the hang of using this kitchen gadget, but it really doesn't take that long to learn. Pros: Cordless & Rechargeable Hands-free operation Easy to clean Small in size to store Cons: Small learning curve Trouble opening a 6 oz can

Works Great

I’m love this little gadget. Stores away in a drawer. Detachable cutting element can be cleaned easily with soap and water. Put small cans on top of taller can for the unit to be able to circle around the top of canned tuna etc.

Yes… following shoulder surgery!

Awesome!!! couldn’t use any muscles following shoulder surgery, so this was perfect for me! It took a little bit of practice well actually a little bit more practice needed! But once I got the message, I loved it and still love it!

It works, but it is awkward

Works well! No way of knowing if the battery charge is good to open a can or when it should be charged. Hard to use on small cans (under 2")

My favorite can opener!

My first one of these can openers lasted me about 10 years! I love that it is so easy to use, doesn't have to be plugged in so it can be used anywhere in the kitchen, and fits in a drawer if you want to put it there. It charges quickly and easily. Then, one day. the battery in my can opener just quit charging. The bad thing is that it takes a battery pack, and I don't know how a person can replace it. Not a problem, I thought! I will just buy another one! Unfortunately, I could not find one anywhere! I searched for over a year....and finally one seller on Amazon had some! You know I ordered one immediately! I can only hope it lasts as long as my first one, and that Hamilton Beach starts to make them again by then!

Great Can opener!

This is a fantastic can opener. It was expensive but I fine well worth it.. I have only had it for a short time. It is small fits in the cupboard and you charge has you need it but a charge lasts a long time. It takes practice to get it right to put on where it needs to be but after a few times it is a peace of cake.
