Very comfortable but issues with product quality

I bought this mat back in July 2011 and was very pleased with how comfortable it was to stand on. Over a six month period, I kept finding an increasing number of little black pellets underneath the mat when I removed it to wash the kitchen floor. Upon inspection, I discovered these pellets were the small peg feet from the underside of the mat that had been breaking off. I contacted customer service at Rubber-Cal via email and was contacted by Matt. One of his questions in the emails was whether or not I'd been moving or storing anything heavy on top of it. That gave me a pretty good laugh since the heaviest thing on top of it was me. Eventually, I got a replacement mat from them (was a bit slow between responses but it was the holiday season so I didn't mind). The replacement mat is also developing the same exact problem with the peg feet breaking off after two months of use. I'm 40 pounds lighter (210) than when I first bought it (250) so I'm wondering if I'm still too heavy for it. Things I'd like to see improved upon are the previously mentioned problem and the mat tends to slide around a lot on ceramic tile kitchen floors.

Great buy

I work as a groomer so I’m always on my feet. I honestly thought this mat would be like my old one heavy and my feet still hurt, but this one is so much lighter and it gives a plushness to my feet so I don’t feel like I’m standing directly on the floor.

Anti-Fatigue Mat and Standing Computer Desk

I have a standing computer desk. This mat works perfectly for me. It's not unusual for me to put in 8-12 hours at my PC, 5-6 days a week. I do take a few min break here and there. This mat beats standing on a wood floor all day. I noticed another reviewer mentioned the rubber tips on the back would fall off. That hasn't happened on mine. I have checked when cleaning the floor to make sure. However, if a person's weight makes a difference, I'm in the normal weight range for my height. I wasn't looking for nirvana, just something that would take away the ache from standing all day. This mat does that for me. Without wearing shoes, this is not a comfortable mat to stand on for long periods. However, since I do the "going to work" gig at home, wearing shoes keeps me in the proper work mindset. So it's not a loss, for me. I did try it w/o shoes during my "off work" time, yeah, not so much. This mat does what I need it to do.

Perfect for Standing Desk

I converted to a standing desk a few months ago and quickly realized that I needed to be standing on something other than the thinly carpeted cement floor. At first I thought the low price would result in a cheap product that would cause more damage to my feet than the flat floor but I was wrong. I ordered two and I love them. The black on black looks nice on my office floor. I stand on these mats for 7 out of my 8 hour day and it has helped a lot. I take short breaks on a stool which has small metal legs. I was afraid that the stool would punch holes into this mat but it has not. I am very impressed with the quality of these floor mats. I highly recommend them to anyone who has to stand in one place for more then 20 minutes at a time.

Using with a Standing Desk - comfortable but stinky

I like the comfort this mat is providing. I'm using it in my office along with a standing desk I assembled inexpensively from parts bought at Ikea (Lack side table, Viktor shelf and brackets). The only downside is that the mat continues to emit a chemical smell, even two weeks after purchase. If you get one of these, I recommend letting it air out well for about a month or more before using it indoors.

Does what it says it will do!

I have a booth at a nearly-year-round outdoor artisan market, where I stand on concrete two days a week selling my wares. I had tried spongier mats, but they either didn't stand up to the unpredictable weather conditions or they lost their resilience in a very short time. I decided to try this one, and it does precisely what I was hoping for... and then some. Yes, it makes it easier to stand for long periods on a hard surface - but I wasn't expecting how good an insulator it would be when the weather gets cold. I can feel a major difference in temperature when I step off of the mat. It's durable, it's easily packable, and it's comfortable. I'm glad I picked a winner.

Fantastic mat

Bought this mat as a means to ease the pressure on my feet from having to stand ten hours a day at work on an uneven surface. This mat does the trick providing a soft surface to stand on. The mat is durable and easily cleaned which is important to me since I can get dirty at work. I can feel a real difference at the end of the day after standing on this mat. I feel less pressure on my legs through the day and don't feel pain at the end of a shift as much. Love this mat.
