Expensive but worth every penny paid

Its a great product for use in areas which will experience high temperatures, a good example is an electric motor in continuous service which will be hot to the touch. Also their small form factor makes it easy to pack into motor wiring boxes. Yes these are more expensive than ordinary wire nuts but they can be used where previously crimp rings, friction tape and a overwrap of electrical tape were required before so they pay for themselves in time saved.

Joins two 14 G solid copper wires

Although black wire nuts are the color for high voltage, I wanted to keep black color as hot, white as neutral, and green as ground. These black nuts were perfect. Arrived next day. Would buy again.

Wire Connector for High Voltage/High Heat Environment

So I have a plethora of these at home from different types and shapes to sizes. I did NOT however have these heat-resistant electrical wire connectors for my furnace, which turned off one day. I investigated further and found that the black "hot" wire literally burned through the existing cap which melted off. I will be attaching photos of this, because I could not believe it myself. I've never seen anything like this before, however I did purchase these including the ceramic connectors in the event these would ever melt. I contacted my HVAC guy and he said more than likely the two wires were not secured properly which caused this to happen. I will keep an eye on this certainly to ensure these don't melt again, but it was a weird situation. In any case these are the BEST brand out there for electrical connectors. Don't trust the cheapy grade ones you see on the store shelves in high heat/high voltage environments. Love Gardner Bender products! Very happy and satisfied customer!
