Good value for the price. However 2 of the 8 cartridges were crushed with black charcoal covering inside of carton, not sure if still useable. Update, the 2 crushed ones are not usable, product needs better packaging.

I use this in my whole house water filter. Have ordered before and with a good fit. The only thing on this order, (it comes as a package of two) the wrapping on the two filters was damaged. Somewhere along the process one of the gaskets was missing. I happened to have another one and was able to get a filter installed.

Great value, but both filters were damaged. Most likely from being shipped in a bag verses a box. Amazon is replacing the filters so I am happy.

Didn't know what I was missing

These are a WOW! I've been on a well for almost a decade. I've been buying the dark grey filters that for some reason over the past couple years turn...well, slimy with no loss in water pressure. The water took on an odor alerting me that it was time to change the filter. I decided to try a different filter (this one). I'll use up the rest of the gray ones and buy these from now on. When it rains hard it kicks up the dirt in the well and these turn a nice shade of dark tan. Joking. But no slime. I can live with that.

Lighter than others = Less carbon

I've always used Pentek carbon block filters in the past but decided to try these as they're cheaper. Well, you get what you pay for. A new Pentek EP-10 weighs 470g, these Ecopure ones are 289g each. I can usually get 3-4 months out of a Pentek and these just 1.5-2 months before I can smell chlorine from the tap. I guess they are cheaper so it off sets it, just means you have to change them more.

Does a great job

I have a two cartridge filter system in the basement one with 5 microns carbon filter [EPW2C] and the second with 1 micron carbon filter [EPW2F] going to my kitchen cold water line only. I bought from Amazon a TDS EZ water tester. My cold water from the city comes in at 128-142ppm. When I test my water from my kitchen water line it comes in at 95-112ppm. The filters do make a difference. I change the filters every 6 months. I recommend this filter.
