Smaller screw patter noles not open, and pull cord pulls out.

Of courser you can fix it. Good socket. ...but smaller span holes had to be drilled out to use on the older, smaller standard ceiling socket They're marked as depressions in the plastic (so easy to know where to drill) but not usable as you receive it. And, once installed, the cheap cord pulled out on first pull. A minor point, but the fix was a trip to Ace for a chain (half the price of the socket), and back on the ladder to make it usable. So, find a difterent brand you dont have to modify to install, and repair to use.

They are about the same price in the stores but these get delivered to you. The only problem is you get what you get. # out of 4 are still working which means I had to go back and replace one already..., not so good but this happens even with the store bought ones. They just don't seem to make things to last that long. Perhaps it is to ensure more people buying more product, SOONER rather than later.

Easy to install

You can push 4, 14-gauge wires straight into holes in the back, without having to use screws. Also, the two pieces make it easier to install I just hope the switch lasts longer than a few months; it seems that in recent years the switches in pull chain lights are poorly made and quickly fail. This fixture was made in China, of course.

Receptacle Lamp holder

Installed three of these outside and it's still holding up after a few months. I wanted something to wire up with my flood lights, but have the option to turn off and leave the flood lights on without using a remote. One of three arrived broken but Amazon was quick to replace. One of the three broke during the installation because a slight over tightening will do that so be careful when tightening or just hand tighten. Luckily, the other side still holds up well with the pulley cord being yanked but it's due for replacement. The last thing I want to note is that if you are installing outdoor, there's two holes next to where the screws go, you might want to cover that up with some tape, etc since bugs will eventually make their way into the electric box. Without the hole and how easy it is to break, I'd give it a 5 star.

Good replacement

Had a old porcelain one that was broke, this one does a great job in place of it. Just remember not to tighten the screws to much, it is plastic!

Happy customer

This item was at our door in 2 days. Directions were provided and installation was straightforward. On this particular product wires are not included. We were able to. Use wires from one being replaced.
