Replacement for broken sensor

This unit is a replacement for a sensor that would not show wind. The original did last four years before I replaced the temp humidity sensor, but that didn't fix the wind speed indicator. I bought this complete unit without the indoor display which was still working. I do like you can buy a battery pack to prevent me taking it down from the roof to change them. If I had to do it again I would go with a different brand.

Replacedment Unit For 5 Year Old Unit that Went Bad

Bought my original weather station from COSTCO for $80 or so in 2017. The old, 5 year unit did not register any precip, during a hellacious rainstorm of 6". Now, with the new unit up on the same 7' post, I found out something interesting... The week after I put up the replacement unit, we received some 40+ MPH wind gusts. It shook the unit so much, that the display showed almost "3.5" of rain had fallen", even after the Santa Ana wind event concluded!! It was a sunny day, 79 degrees, w/a ZERO precipitation forecast! Strange, don't you think? Can the display be manipulated so that I can remove the bogus rain count???

Affordable Quality Weather Station

I’ve had the same AcuRite weather station at a cabin 500 miles away, and can access its readings via WiFi. It’s a real benefit to be able to see the forecast before we travel.

Works great while it is woring.

Have had several of these... the first thing to go is the temperature gauge...and humidity gauge. The wind device with direction tends to last longer. I contacted AcuRite regarding the failure of the temperature gauge withini a week of my receiving it..... never heard anything back from AcuRite...not a peep.

Replacement for Original

Bought this to replace our worn out model. We are near the Canadian border and take quite a bit of weather of all kinds. It paired well with our original indoor screen so we didn’t have to re-purchase the entire system. Super happy it paired well and we are back to watching all our weather and temperature extremes. Great to know how to dress in the morning to prepare for the day.

My second unit

My second one! First had the rain gauge give out after seven years. Very affordable and is very accurate according to the local airport reports. Have the hub, lightning detector, deluxe display and remote battery station (so I don’t have to crawl up a ladder to replace the batteries) was easy to install and handles all weather conditions when properly secured. Great unit and add ons!

Works well

We had to replace the exact same unit after approximately 7 years as it finally packed it in through fairly extreme weather conditions. So the install was very easy and the new unit connected quickly through wifi to the original two monitors that did not need replacement. Nice option to just buy the weather station only

Good unit, but doesn't last forever.

This is my second unit. My first unit lasted about 5 years in some pretty rough weather on a 8' post on my dock on the St. Lawrence river. The rain gauge failed after about a year. The remaining sensors worked well until the photoelectric cells failed at year 5. I hooked up my new unit to my old Acurite display with no issues and all sensors are responding correctly. Bottom line: you get what you paid for, but I have no regrets.
