Finally, one made in USA and it works!

After being burned on two "thermometers" that were absolute junk, I researched until I found one made in America. It's by VICKS. And it is accurate. And it works just as described in the accompanying literature. The only reason I marked it down under ease of use is because it's very difficult to extract from the packaging, and I was on my own to figure out how to turn it OFF. Such a relief to find an American product! Sometimes I wonder how much we all pay per year for Chinese junk that we can't return for a refund.

Great beep for older folks

I bought this for my parent who wasn’t able to hear the beeps on other thermometers because of their higher pitch. She can usually hear the beep on this one and if she does miss it, the flashing lights alert her it’s done. Great thermometer!

Works well, so far

Arrived well packaged and ready to use. Have had it a few months and still works well. Held back a star as have recently had issues with digital thermometers that stop working within a year. Have a BD digital one that is 20 years old and still works great - no idea why the new ones go bad so quickly

My three stars reflect a sort of average: it's very good when it works, but sometimes it doesn't work at all. I have one already and like it and consider this just to be a defective individual instance, not a flaw of the product in general. Just received this and couldn't get it to turn on consistently. Tried to return it through Amazon but was referred to Vicks, the manufacturer. While I was on the phone with Vicks (who by the way made it relatively quick to get to a helpful and patient human), it started to work properly. Nevertheless they offered me a replacement under warranty and I accepted because I don't trust it. The rep suggested, although this turned out not to be the case--no on-screen low battery indicator-- that the battery might be dead owing to having been on the shelf for a long time, the product having been discontinued. Amazon does not disclose that this model is not current. Battery compartment is quite difficult to open, by the way.

Super large display

Super large display is easy to read. Backlit display is a must. Has 3 different colors: green for normal, yellow for rising number, and red for high temp. Found to be around one degree less than normal 98.6 temp at 97.8. Also arm pit temp was actually 1 degree higher than mouth. Built to last. Bought a less expensive brand and ended up returning it. Highly recommend this thermometer.

YES! finally. A thermometer that works

I bought 2 other thermometers before this one. According to the other two, I am quite dead. Although the fact that I am typing this would suggest otherwise. Which? recommended this one as being accurate. Should have read Which? before wastingly money on the other rubbish.

l'oggetto e' arrivato prima del previsto, sulle istruzioni ce' scritto che puo' essere usato in gradi Farenheit o Centigrade, ma non riesco a passare dai F ai Centigradi per cui e' un problema
