Will Fail implement inspection at a track meet
These discuses, while inexpensive, are also not quite to USATF implement standards. They are too thick in the middle, and unsuitable for competition. Could work as a practice discus, but not for compeittion.

Great for home practice.
great for practicing at home. My daughter is on the track team and wanted to have a metal one to practice with at home. She prefers to use the black rubber ones at her meets, but this one came in handy to practice with and was a bit cheaper then the nicer rubber ones. It will leave divets in your yard if you throw it so just be prepared for that.

Well worth the price
My daughter is just starting out and I originally had her on $15 rubber discus. She jumped about 8 feet without any difference using this discus. It feels better for her than the rubber discus as well, but she still has a ton of learning to do. As a soon to be 11th grader, she stand throws this about 75 feet, and her spin is not any better yet but I am confident she'll be throwing this a lot further by the time the season starts in 2015.

Junior High Standard
Purchased for our Junior high school boy so he could practice. This is the standard size for grades 6 - 8. The weight is mostly in the ring edge, with the smooth plastic providing a nice grip surface.

Purchased two of these for my son. He was very pleased with quality. I purchased one new and one used (like new). Bought this for my daughter for 7th grade track, she like it so well that it was her go to discuss, she wouldn't even throw her practice discus anymore. she improved her PR to 65' 8" on her last tournament.
