Great for Oriental fire drills

Couldn't get the center box to slide out of the outer shell. The number one key would slam the lid shut but not release the box from the holder. After close inspection, the locking tab on the back of the outer shell was welded on upside down so that it could not be released with a turn of the key. I just broke the tab off and guess I will use it as is. The box is heavy construction, but evidently poor quality control.

Just unboxed this, first thing I noticed was the weight, it weighs a good 20-30 lbs and can be directly bolted to a wall or floor, comes with two sets of keys aswell, one for the outter shell and lock function and one for the safe itself at first I had trouble with getting them to fit into the keyholes but with a bit of force they go in nicely, all that noted to me was that this was a well built item, so after mucking around with it for five or ten minuets the only downside I have for this item is that you must manually reset the slot trap door each time you open the safe. Overall The item is sturdy and I wouldn't have problems with keeping important items in there such as a wallet and SS card and for only 80 bucks it would be a nice investment if you looking for a little safe to keep things in, just not poker chips, as the trap door can be left closed tho the outter shell wont stay locked on it still works the same.

Not Well Made Or Shipped Well

We bought 5 or 6 of these. Several of them came with keys that were smashed or with keys that didn't fit the box that was shipped. Keys from some of the other ones we bought fit other boxes so it worked out. Each comes with an outside box that gets mounted under a desk and then the lockbox that inserts into that. Several of them would not lock into place properly. Finally about a week into using one of them, the lock assembly on the side door pushed into the box and got stuck so we had to drill it out rendering the box useless. I would not buy this product again.

Feels heavy duty but...

Unpacked it, took 2 turns on the lock and then the lock broke. The build quality overall was good except for the lock. I probably could have fixed the lock myself but played it safe with the possibility of having other issues in the future, so I returned it immediately.
