Better than the standard plate

This is exactly what I wanted. This should be the standard for all door plates.

inexpensive upgrade for door security

I finally got around to installing these security plates for my deadbolt locks. Due to door clearance, I had to do some substantial chiseling to get the box plate and the outer brass plate flush with the door jamb. Once I screw it all together, the other plate slightly bows, but it is fine. The screws it came with were too long for the box section in one of my doors, - there was no way I was getting it all the way in without stripping, so I used slightly shorter screws. they are still going into the very substantial frame of the door, so it is much better than the flimsy plate I had in place before.

Feels solid, mortise is a pain

Depends on your door but mortise to fit is difficult for the door i installed it on. The big metal part that goes inside the door jamb is pretty large and then the brass/bright plate that goes over it also has to fit in there, so quite a bit of mortise to do. Makes the deadbolt grip better, feels more secure

Better than what I was expected.

It came with 2 pieces. I only needed front piece. Good and solid metal plate. Fixed my rotten door frame within minute. very pleased for this purchase.

Excellent strike box

The photos don't show that there are an additional two screw holes at the bottom of the box that will permit anchoring into the frame or stud. One star off for not offering longer screws or a chrome faceplate. I opted not to use the brass faceplate because my existing hardware is chromed. I also purchased 4 inch screws to ensure the screw reaches the 2x4 wall stud.

Great for the price!

The screws are only 2" and not the stoutest, and it only comes with a brass plate (I wish a brushed stainless option were available). But it's well made, the instructions are easy to follow if you're handy (some drilling/routing/chiseling required), and you can't do better for the price anywhere.
