Something Changed
I started using these blades several years ago, and they were amazing. Were. They lasted forever, and came in a great plastic case that served as a sharps box for the used blades. Then something changed. This latest batch no longer has the case - which is annoying but not a deal breaker - and no longer last as long as they did. That is not a good change. The decline in longevity has made me look to other blade solutions, which I really had no interest in doing until now.

Just buy Feather blades
Do you like chucking money down the sink and getting heavy blade chatter? Get these blade. Otherwise, geth Feather blades and don't dig in too much. Feather blades are way cheaper and last me twice as long while being twice as sharp and cutting twice as close

Changed quality. They are terrible.
The blades were not sharp. Ordering new blades, I hope they will send the product sharp this time. Update. I have to change blades two or three times for one have. They are now made in the Czech Republic and are not sharp. Do not buy.

I just want to say Thank you Merkur!
I was going to write a comparison review then highlighting Merkur as the finest blade out of Gillette and feather one safety razor brand I got from Target. I am just going to honestly say that MERKUR is yours and mines best find. I used to use two blades and one shower for my legs and arms I was using Gillette. I like the feather blade but I still had to clean up with Gillette. Merkur allows me to use this one type of blade for my legs and arms. I was so impressed. MERKUR is the finest.

Terrible
I’ve used this brand for years because of the value and great performance. But now it looks like they are no longer made in Germany and I can only get 1 shave out of them before they are useless.

Edited Review - a little overpriced
My original review is below, and as someone who reads and appreciates feedback, I needed to send in an updated review. I've totally changed my opinion of these blades, and think they are GREAT! I think the first blade I used must have been a bad one because since trying another blade, these have been my "go to." These are sharp and I get a super close shave with these, but not too close. (Feathers are too close for me). These deserved another try in my shave routine and have now become part of the regular rotation. Original review below: My first shave with this razor, and it felt very harsh. I have sensitive skin and this left me feeling raw. I always give a blade multiple shaves to see if it gets better, but usually know on the first pass if I like it or not. I've tried a lot of razors and I think there are better values out there for the price. The blade is very sharp (IMO not as sharp as a feather, which is not my go to), but left my skin irritated. I haven't cut myself in a while, but had a couple of nicks with this blade. Not a very forgiving blade. I use a Gillette 1962 Slim adjustable. First shave was on a #4 setting and will try to dial it back and see if it gets better. Every DE shaver has an opinion on what works well for them. IMO it wasn't an aggressive shave, but was a harsh blade on my skin. Just two passes today, WTG and XTG...2 hours later and still feeling a burn.

NOT German Merkur
The blades are described as made in Solingen Germany, but they are not. They come from the Czech Republic. They do not look like, nor perform like German Merkur. The photo from the seller shows this, though the "from the manufacturer" section below, shows German blades. I thought that the packaging had just changed, but that is not the case. I tried 2 blades, as per other commentary here, they did not perform like the German blade. They tugged at my beard.

Caveat Emptor: NOT sharp, NOT smooth, NOT Solingen
I have used a Merkur blade that came with my Merkur razor. It was a great blade, sharp and smooth. These are made in the Czech republic, which normally means quality, but not this time. The first thing I've noticed is that the print on them is faded, like the machine needs recalibration. Started shaving, and it felt rough, with lots of tugging. Ended up using another blade (Silver Blue), that I've originally rejected as not being as good as the German made Merkur. This is a borderline scam, and I'm quite disappointed. I'll have to stick to Silver Blues.

Fake Merkur blades.
When I purchased my Merkur razor, I also purchase the Merkur blades and they were amazing. If I did not shave for 1-2 days those blades would do a nice clean shave and not hurt my skin. These blades simply hurt when you shave and that's shaving everyday. I can't imagine not shaving for 1-2 day how they would hurt. They do not feel sharp and simply pulls on the facial hair. I also noticed that these are made in the Czech republic which was strange to me and I noticed I've noticed is that the print on them is faded so to me it looks like fake knockoff. Will have to go and get another brand until I can make it to the store that carries real Merkur blades 2 hours away. Save your money and buy real Merkur blades at the store or another brand.

Possibly counterfeit?
I have been using German-made Merkur Super-Platinum double-edge blades for years, and they are the sharpest you can get. These ones SUCK. They tug on my hair like nothing else. They are unusable. As other buyers have said, these ones come from the Czech Republic and they do not look like, nor perform like German Merkur blades. I'm not sure if they are counterfeit, or what, but buyer beware.

Best blades I have tried
I hadn't used a merkur blade in a few years as I hadn't had access to anywhere that sold them and have been making do with wilkinson sword blades or my electric razor. It is INSTANT the feeling that you are using a superior blade switching to the merkur. Treat your self and get these. The only warning is DAMN they are sharp, like I know they're razors but if you haven't used a blade this good before, know there is a bit of a learning curve. I love them. I'll be buying these regularly now.
