Works Perfectly - Great Value

It's really difficult to find competitive items that serve a dual function for the hole in your sink. If you're like me you may have only 1 or 2 holes in your sink, but you have at least (1) a dish washer (2) a water filter and (3) a soap dispenser. If you want one more item, I think this is it. If you only have 1 hole, you'll probably just have to drill a new one, if possible, for your water filter. I rated this 3 stars for installation difficulty, but that has nothing to do with the product. This product came with all the parts I would need to make the install. It's not anymore difficult than other parts you have to install on your sink. Sinks have small under counter spaces which are usually occupied with a bunch of miscellaneous junk, then you have to screw it tightly with very narrow ability to move. It's not getting any easier unless sinks are redesigned.

Honest review

I've now bought two of these. My first one, I tried many types of soap and eventually the shiny coating on this (obviously plastic) dispenser started to peel and turn green on the INSIDE making the soap look nasty. Eventually it also clogged up and became too hard to push down on (wouldn't pop back up) so I got a new one. I recommend finding a gentle soap or a less thick one to use for this, and it'll probably work fine. The outside, while cheaply made, continues to look nice at least.

Faulty air gap with metallic smelling soap

Such a shame, great idea, but poor execution! Air gap leaks water everywhere INCLUDING UNDER the sink when its clogs. I paid a plumber to install so I know it wasn't a faulty install. I used soft soap brand soap and the dispenser made it smell metalic after 1 month. Will be replacing

Easy to Install and Fits the Purpose

This was really easy to install - it literally just goes over the air gap. It doesn’t lock into place or anything so it’s truly as simple as just placing it over the air gap. The amount it can hold is small, but if you’re like me and don’t do a lot of washing by hand, you’ll probably only need to refill about every 2-3 weeks. Overall, worth the price to repurpose the air gap into something functional so I can have one less item on my countertop (separate soap dispenser).

Excellent, considering the price

This is NOT a high quality stainless steel item that you can hand down to your grandchildren! OK, now that the obvious is out of the way, this thing is great. It's inexpensive, it looks pretty good even next to real stainless steel items, and it generally works well. What else do you need? Sure, its entirely plastic and it will not last forever. What did you expect for the price? It also holds a very, very small amount of soap. This is not surprising considering the design but the design choices were appropriate. Heck, I'd be happy if they sold only the dispenser part without the air gap for the same or similar price (2020 edit: they did this!). It drops right onto any existing air gap, and it looks a LOT better than your standard air gap. When it wears out or breaks, I'll buy another one. Edit: Almost 5 years later and this thing is still kicking. It still looks pretty good and I'm still very happy with it. If they could defy physics and fit more soap in, that would be great (kidding). Prices seem to have doubled in 5 years but it's still worth it.

Good idea

We had one for about 5 years but the chrome started peeling from interacting with the dish soap. Got a replacement and we can’t be more happy. Like the fact that it stays put and it doesn’t take extra space

Great replacement for ugly vents

Ugly dishwasher vent is gone! The soap dispenser works great too. I wish there were other finish options though. The soap container is rather small but it lasts a few weeks before needing to be refilled. Because you can’t see how much soap is in there, you will overfill it...every....time....
