I received my fishing pole and it was like this? If I get another part for my rod and it's broken then I'll just get a hole new pole. Hopefully when I get the part it will be good to use.

Awful QC - decent despite that

Overall quality of the rod and reel seems fine, BUT as you see in the photos it came broken (only 1 handle the other side snapped off) and whoever assembled it has no idea what they are doing. The reel was not inserted into the reel holder at all they just zip tied it onto the rod. ??? HOW did that get through QC? I added a second photo of how it is supposed to be seated without any zip tie. Honestly a shame we had this experience because otherwise the reel and rod seem pretty decent. Also, just replace the line when you get it. The stuff it comes with it pretty terrible, but most already mentioned that. We reached out regarding the handle and they're mailing us a new one and support was very fast and easy.

Quality on a budget!

Zebco is a name that is synonymous with fishing. But, lets face it, their newer stuff has been crap for so long that people like me look for their older stuff at yard sales and flea markets anytime we can. For budget fishing I have been using a lot of Shakespeare stuff and that has been pretty hit and miss. For every good Shakespeare in my shed is one that has needed tossed. Pflueger reels have ended up being my go to any time I can afford it, but they cost double what one of these reels do. My wife wanted this one and wouldn't settle on anything else, so I ordered it. I wasn't really expecting much out of anything with the Zebco name on it. The line that came on it, toss it, and put a quality line on there. Quality line isn't all that expensive and any reasonably good line makes this reel work smooth. It casts great, reels great, and hasn't had a single issue with the Berkley Vanish 12lb test that I threw on there. It impressed me so much that I ordered one of these reels for myself to replace a good Shakespeare that took me about 6 seasons of fishing to wear out. I dare say that this spincast combo is as good as my Pflueger President and is half the cost. Will it hold up over time, only time will tell, but it sure looks and feels like it is built for it. If you are looking for quality on a budget, you have found it.

Stopped working the third time I used it.

Worked fine with the line that came with it, until the third time I used it. The line started snagging on every cast. Could never get it to work right. Changed out the line, it still would not cast. The weight would go about 10 feet, then start being hard to go farther. Would pull out about 40 feet of line, with it feeling like it was hitting the pins that were retracted. Reel it back in, and the same thing over and over again. Will throw this reel away as junk.

It is great the durability is great, good value for money. But it is not for beginners it is hard to tell if you have a fish or sea grass but overall it is great! take my word for it I have been a fisherman my whole life and this is by far the best rod I have ever had.

Good rod for the price

Seems to work well right out of the box. The daughter caught a big pike on it from the boat and the thing folded damn near in half and didn't break so it gets a thumbs up from me.

DO NOT BUY It wont let me give it negative stars but this rod alrdy came prebroken not to mention a minnow is probably its weightlimit aweful experience now im waiting for the damn return process till i can fish

Reel good rod sucks

The rod just doesnt have the casting ability, but the reel is nice perfect for begginners or ppl that want less irritation with the reel and more fishing time
