Still the best I’ve personally used..
Still the best deal I believe between the universal fitting components, and also the brass housing makes this my go to. I don’t know how, but I had one that the small cotter pins actually deteriorated. I run these on three pond scapes and so far and only had to replace one from “poor quality”. I turned around and bought a brand new one and it was a easy replacement. It’s been running flawlessly for a year since. The other two are on year 5-6. I have noted that the stainless braided steel hose that comes with it, is a hit or miss. Sometimes the male and female ends are just coated and don’t last. So be prepared to replace the metal braided hose leader. Thanks for your time and good luck!

This is what was originally installed on my pondless waterfall. For the most part mine last about 2 years. The braided leader hose usually stops up with sediment or minerals over Winter and if you don’t replace it first you have no water. The faucet usually lasts 2 years as well . I imagine that there is enough moisture left during Winter to burst it or it just simply wears out. Overall; it’s fairly easy to install after you’ve done it one time. I keep about 3 of these kits on hand ‘just in case’. The price has increased but so has everything else. Would I recommend it for this price? I just ordered another one. Not sure when they will stop making these.

Disappointing quality
Quality on this item was less than I usually expect from Aquascape, so I was disappointed. While the materials are excellent (brass body, high quality foam float, wire braided feed line) the valve body was poorly assembled. It leaks and sprays water around its end cap, the pinion holding the float arm and the valve piston are loose and floppy. I worry as this ages that such poor actuation will lead to sticking of the valve.

Replaced perfectly
I was looking for the same float valve I had in my pond and this is the exact one. It is installed and working great.

It works well
It lasts a couple years and then breaks. Still it’s the best one out there and does the job.

Installed in a horse feeding bucket on the edge of a fish pond and it's working well. Leaks very slightly but at least it's in the pond. I'm wondering what's going to happen when it freezes over in the winter. I will of course turn off the water feed and drain the hose.

I tried some lower price alternatives first, much to my regret. This installed easily and finally I had a valve that would shut off. As an unexpected bonus, it is very easy to fine tune the fill level.

It worked but cannot shut off completely after 2 years
I bought this valve kit in 04/2011. It came with all the parts one would need and some more useless ones. Installation was fine and it worked for some time. Right now, I am looking for a new one because it cannot completely shut off my pond water inlet anymore. I hope its quality is better. Also, I wish I had an option not to buy all these parts included and save a few bucks. The only useful part is the flex hose but I ended up needed one with different length.

Does what it should, haven’t had any issues with it yet. I cut a piece of wood to attach it to so it can hang on the edge of my pond.
