Manipulatives are too small
If pieces were larger, this would be lots improved for kindergartners.

Missing pieces
Normally love this brand but this set is missing pieces. I received two letter H cards instead of letter I and Y cards. Very disappointed as I use this for work to teach kids with special needs and buy everything out of pocket.

A little small, but workable
This game is a little smaller in scale than I expected. The cards are laminated and can be used again, but the lines are small - especially for beginning writers. It would be hard for them to write so small while they're still learning letters. The cards come in different colors based on category, making for easy sorting. The set includes a small bag of colorful pieces to make letters or numbers. Some are curved, others are straight - they can all hook together interchangeably to form the symbols. The cards include pictures, which is helpful, because even for me, creating some of the letters seemed unintuitive without a visual. Despite some design flaws, I will enjoy using this with my kids.

Teacher Review
I purchased these for a group of Prekindergarten students aged 4-5, specifically to use at our center tables for literacy. While this is a fantastic activity and easily on level for our students, I do recommend purchasing two of these to have enough for one child to make numerous letters as this doesn’t come with many duplicate pieces. My second point is that the cards should be re-laminated. They are sturdy but not waterproof and should be laminated a second time to completely student/child-proof them.

4 year old loves it!
I've been noticing my daughter having a difficult time with "p/q" & "d/b" and was looking for a way to better teach it. I figured that manipulatives might do the trick. Everything is well done, except they could have done the cards just a little better. There are cards for the alphabet, numbers, and shapes. It's double-sided, with "A" on one side and "Q" on the other. So finding specific cards is tricky. I wish instead that they would either have "A" and "B" on each side, or all alphabets on one and the back of them have the numbers and shapes. I ended up punching holes in the corners and attaching them to a ring. It's a typical wipe-off card but no pen included. Luckily we have our own pens and used those. Like all wipe-offs, if you don't wipe them off right after use, they tend to not wipe off easily. If that happens, use toothpaste and then wipe it off with a damp paper towel. Overall, it was a great little kit. My 4-year-old loves it and it gives her a way to interact with letters that is not solely just flashcards and workbooks.

Smaller than anticipated
I was picturing it bigger. Definitely for ages 4/5+ like the box suggested. Seems like it’s a great independent activity or center in the classroom. Love that shapes are also included!

Literacy Teacher Review - Almost Perfect
As a literacy teacher, I would recommend this product to parents to use with their children at home. This set is a great way for young children to learn how to form letters. At the current price of about $20 I think this set is great value and would be fun for youngsters at home. It would also make a great learning centre for classroom use. -The pieces are strong and sturdy; I don't see them breaking easily. -Generally good choices for the images on the cards. The letter 'x' for example, is a picture of an 'x-ray' - although I would have preferred a picture of a 'box' or a 'fox' to get the proper x sound, this image is way better than the typical xylophone usually shown. The letter 'e' is an elephant, which is better than the typical 'egg' - usually pronounced with a long A sound - that is normally shown in sets like these. The product is close to perfect but has some room for improvement: -Needs MORE PIECES: There is just a small baggie of building pieces. This amount should be at least doubled. Children should have the opportunity to build multiple letters at once, with the goal of hopefully building their name. -Cards are slightly 'plasticized' but do not have a strong lamination at all. You could very easily bend them. Would recommend laminating them - especially if you want to use with a dry erase marker. -Formation for some letters is slightly 'off' - a better design would have allowed for a straight small line for the lowercase 'e' for example.
