Light weight and easy to install

We have not painted it yet, but with some ingenuity, found this pretty easy to install. There are no instructions for the DIY’er. We ordered the 5.5x5.5 inch ones, and our only concern was how to install. We placed a small piece of a 2x4 in the hollowed out area to screw onto our posts, then screeed the corbels to the 2x4, and covered everything else that was exposed to elements with a 1/4” piece of plywood (so bees, wasps, and birds won’t have a place to live). This product is hollow on the inside, so we felt it was necessary cover up exposed areas. Over all, the product is very easy to use, and much lighter and easier to install than solid wood.

Easy install.

Easy install but open back makes a great place for birds and critters. I made two strip covers from 1/4” ply and glued in place with adhesive. A little fill and paint and they look great! Fro price, quality, and general bang for the buck… recommended.

Perfect size .

The over hanging roof over our front door needed a non-structural bracket to add some interest. The scale of this corbel was ideal for this purpose. As another reviewer added, I added a filler board to the back of this foam piece to keep birds from nesting in the hollow rear.

It’s hollow

The media could not be loaded. Makes a nice entrance, but keep in mind it’s hollow and will need to be painted

Nice for inside uses

I liked it for inside uses, but i needed it for outdoors. This is hollowed out and top is open. If used outside it will make good place for birds nest.

Hollow

Yes the back is hollow. I found the easiest way remedy this was to fill the hollow with Great stuff foam let it dry and trim it with a serrated knife, bead knife worked great.

They drill and nail good

They look great, but wish they had a back on them

Chips easily

The paint finish chips easily. We purchased 9 and the paint finish on two were 7 chipped when we opened the box. In adhering the corbels most of them chipped. If you're going to paint after they're in place, you'll need to fill in the chips first.

Not quite perfect

Quality seems to be ok, and I didn't have issues with paint chipping like other reviewers did. These where exactly what I was looking for in a weather proof corbel... But I didn't notice that the backside is hollow! Mine arrived unfinished on the backside - yellow urethane. So these will have to be mounted where you can't see from the top, and will have to be drilled for drainage. Was able to purchase these as an add-on item so the price was great, otherwise they would be going back.
