No lube?

This thing is BEEFY honest didnt expect it to be so heavy duty but that part is nice, the reason i only gave it 4 stars was because its like theres 0% lubrication where its supposed to swivel and it just kinda chipped away a bunch of black paint upon doin a swivel... (Update) a year later and the swivel is still holding strong, i slapped a bit of lube up in'er and its silky smooth, i can spin like im in a computer chair.. okok maybe not that smooth but youre catching my drift i think.. DEFINITELY PICK THIS UP but also probably get some grease or some sort of lubricant and youll have yourself a swivel seat in no time!

All makes are a pain to install, not much room under the seats.

These are made of a strong gauge of metal and look like they will last a long time. Locking lever isnice and strong.

there are no ball bearings

it uses plastic bearings... it's very stiff, but I suspect it will fail soon as the plastic bearings quickly disincarnates

These are exactly what I needed for my bus to RV conversion, to make some big bucket seats swivel. They are very hard to turn upon arrival, but grease them up and break them in a bit (read: spin around like an idiot 100 times) and they spin much more freely.

Put on my Kayak

I added this to the base of my Kayak seat so i could turn and reach the back hull with out hanging over the seat. it lock in place with no slop and turns smooth.

Very poor design!!!!

After installing seat would not rotate but a few degrees. Upon further inspection i found the locking and spring mechanism was designed in a way that it only gives 1/16 of an inch spacing for the head of your seat screw... The spring and locking mechanism rotates dead center over the mounting holes. No way to get a bolt with a 1/16 in thick head to fit here.... See picture.

Works great, make sure to buy the right hardware.

This works very well on Wise seats. The holes line up perfectly. The seat came with bolts, but the swivel did not come with hardware to bolt up to the pedestal underneath. I found out the hard way that you need to use carriage bolts. Regular hex head bolts stick up too high and the latching mechanism hits the bolt head and won't let it swivel. Buy some 1/4" stainless carriage bolts.

Does not fit on 8WD17 base

I bought this along with a 8WD17 from Wise and the two dont work together, gonna need to grind roughly 0.25'' from bother length & width. I was playing it safe by buying two Wise products, I guess Wise is just a name. It gets 4 stars because I am guessing once modified it will work fine.

Works as advertised. Easy to fit, keeps seat pointed as you wish.

I had to modify the quick release base (Attwood Corporation Quick Disconnect Seat Mount) to make it fit, but that was not the fault of this unit, just different sizes. Swivel is a little stiff, which I assume will loosen up over time or with lubrication. Make sure it clears what you need it to, worked fine in my application - plain aluminium boat with flat bench seats (plus the Attwood mount.) It does what it’s advertised to do, gives you 12 positions with a positive lock in between. I thought it was a good idea so you don’t have to brace yourself if you’re crossing a wake or chop. Easy to mount to my seats, just like a regular swivel. Seems good so far.
