New energy and enthusiasm

These are weird! But, boy! They can make you go fast!

You have to be very careful to slice sideways coming up from under water or it can feel like your middle finger is going to break! As well, God help anyone else in the lane! These things are massive! Luckily, I nearly always have a lane to myself. They do move a person right along!

Prinzipiell gut, aber eher für fortsgeschrittene Schwimmer

Hab mir aus Interesse diese Paddels gekauft, weil sie vom Hersteller als neues Produkt angepriesen werden. Im Prinzip nichts neues im Vergleich zu anderen Paddels mit dem Unterschied, dass es komplett aus hartem Plastik besteht und dieses lediglich am Mittelfinger gehalten wird - und genau da liegt das Problem. Wenn man auch nur einmal nicht 100% korrekt den Arm aus dem Wasser zieht und quasi hängen bleibt, liegt es am Mittelfinger, diese Mehrbelastung durch den Wasserdruck abzufangen. Das harte Plastik gibt natürlich auch nicht nach. Wenn man also jemand ist, der die Technik noch nicht korrekt beherrscht, dem wird nach einiger Zeit der Finger (und damit die ganze Hand) schmerzen. Ist also eher etwas für Leute, die wirklich gut kraulen können, für alle anderen eher ungeeignet. Bezüglich der Größe: die Anleitung sagt, man solle den Umfang der dicksten Stelle am Mittelfinger abmessen. Bei mir kam dabei die Größe L heraus, welche mir aber zu groß vorkamen (mehr Luft zwischen dem Ring zum Festhalten und dem Finger). Eventuell die angegebene Größe und die darunter bestellen und dann selber feststellen, welche davon besser passt. Die andere dann zurücksenden. :) Positiv zu vermerken ist der ungeheure Druck, den man damit aufbaut - ich bin noch nie so schnell durchs Wasser gepflügt wie mit diesen Paddels. Hab diese aber trotzdem zurück geschickt, vielleicht passt es irgendwann mal besser.

Absolutely superb!

Frankly, I'm a bit of a swimming accessories freak, and it's really hard for me to resist trying out all those new and interesting offerings that TYR, Zoggs, Speedo, Arena and other companies keep bringing out, to lure us, mediocre recreational swimmers, into believing that perhaps this particular new toy is finally gonna make a difference and bring out all those hidden swimming potentials that must be lurking somewhere inside us. Well, while this paddle didn't (yet) turn me into a new Phelps, it's definitely one of the best designs that I ever tried. Great especially for front crawl, but also good for breaststroke (can't speak for other two styles, as I don't do them). However, do be really careful to select the right size of finger-opening, and don't trust entirely the perforated holes on the packaging, that are supposed to help with sizing! Also, don't think that FINIS has some kind of uniform "dot" sizing across all their paddles. I have their "two-dots" ISO paddles, and they fit my fingers perfectly, so, naturally I ordered same sized Mantas. Well, I could hardly squeeze my fingers through two-dot Mantas, and had to order "three-dot" ones!
