Worth it!!!

Never thought I would spend this much on a fishing rod. It was definitely worth it. I always used a Big name rod from basically a Big box store. The feel is all I can say, you can actually feel the quality,

Average rod

This rod looks great and has a decent action but nothing special overall. I've since purchased a rod while on holiday in South Korea that outperforms it in every regard but cost slightly less. The main reason for the 2 stars (as the rod itself would deserve 3 1/2 stars) is the customer service. St Croix has an amazing reputation but frankly I don't think it applies anymore. This is the first rod in my fishing career that has broke on an actual fish, TWICE! Seriously that's not an amazing statistic. The worst part was getting the tip replaced. The first time took nearly 3 months, supposedly they were waiting for a delivery?! The second time is an experience I'm still going through. 3 Weeks of emails before they finally took payment and still not received a confirmation mail on it being posted. Their staff just don't seem to the brightest in the world and what should be dealt with in one or two emails takes a dozen. If you are buying this rod for their service, just don't. It is a passable rod but this is at their budget end and it shows. You would be buying this for the name, not the quality of their top end rods.

All i use are St.Croix poles now...

I don't think you can go wrong with a St.Croix premier. Its a great pole, for a great price. As they say you get what you pay for...Action, backbone and feeling is great... This is a solid pole... I have and 4 St.Croix poles 2 casting, 2 spinning... They have been a great investment for me...

review of st croix pc70mf fishing rod

this is a fantastic product after breaking two other light poles on big fish i purchased this pole. using a 2 oz spro bucktail i had great feel of the lure on the bottom while fishing for fluke (summer flounder) off New Jersey in the ocean. I also hooked up with several Blue fish 7-10 lbs and landed same after a 5 minute fight. I also hooked and caught a 35 lb striped bass with this pole. This pole exceeded my expectations. and I have since purchased a second St Croix rod pc70 mhf. the price for these poles was very good.

This is my favorite rod. I use it for bass fishing, have even caught pike on it with no problems. I would get a medium if you're looking for your standard MH, it is light enough to fish all day and strong enough for hard hooksets even when using frog lures.

Best Rods!!

I now own several of these St. Croix rods in various lengths and action. I do both salt and fresh water fishing and find these rods to be quality products. I have never had an issue with them. A friend broke his and it was replaced without question by the company. Great customer support!
