It’s somewhat challenging
This puzzle is a good challenge for my Golden. She can do 3 of the 4 easily, but struggles to grab the string and raise the lid on the 4th. Luckily you can interchange other puzzles on the base (if you buy additional puzzles) so you can decrease or increase the difficulty as you pup learns.

Wonderful product, but piece missing
One of the little pegs that keeps the boxes in place is missing. Not sure how to get the missing piece.

Keep em' busy!
I purchased this for my 12-week old Goldendoodle puppy, Stuart. He is a VERY active puppy and demands constant attention. He has tons of squeaky toys, teething rings, bones, a fun play-mat, and even a tunnel to run through and lay in, but he still gets bored. We are working with a trainer, and she suggested that I get him some puzzle type toys to keep him busy and challenged. Today was the second time we've tried the toy out. The first time I put dry kibble and a couple of small training treats in the compartments. Stuart seemed happy with it, and it kept him occupied for 20 minutes or so. This time I decided to put bits of banana, small bits of chicken pill pockets, a couple of cubes of ice, and kibble in the separate compartments. I smeared the banana and pill pockets in the corners of the individual compartments as well as the lid thinking that it would take him more time to lick it out of the corners than just eating it. He was elated and had much fun getting to the treats. It took him about 35 minutes to complete the puzzle (or whatever it's called) from beginning to end. I decided to leave the toy out for a bit because he was still working to see if he missed anything. This lasted for another 30 minutes or so. After all of that, it was nap time. So at the end of the day, it took up a couple hours of his time! I think he is going to like it for some time to come if I use it sparingly to keep his interest. However, he is VERY interested in food and treats so that it may keep his attention with continued use, but I would think that he would end up getting good at it and it would take less time to complete the task. To me, it seems as though it needs to stay challenging because otherwise all of the treats end up being a pretty significant reward for spending limited time and energy. Which I'm not crazy about. Plus, I wouldn't think it would be very healthy to do on a regular basis. Though, as far as I know, small bits of banana are safe from time-to-time, and I'm sure that a couple of pill pockets used as a treat are safe as well. Indeed ice cubes and kibble is fine. The only concern I have is that consuming the mixture of all the different types of treats in the same sitting (even though I only used a couple of small bits of banana,1 1/2 to 2 small pill pockets, and a tiny bit of kibble) will upset his stomach. I'll wait and see I suppose. Also, even if only used occasionally, I'm not sure that it is healthy for him. With that aside, I'm very pleased with the product and I know Stuart is as well. I recommend the product as long as you're comfortable with treats.

Awesome fun for dog brains
My dogs love working these puzzle boxes. We use them as a training reward, and this really helps keep the dogs engaged waiting for a release to go get a treat from the puzzles. The boxes are fairly strong, but can be knocked apart by an overly enthusiastic dog. Easily put back together, however. I am impressed at the overall quality and durability; we use them outside as well as indoors, and I also throw them in the car for offsite training. And it's amazing to me that the pull-strings used on two of the puzzle boxes have remained intact despite multiple dogs using them to get to their treats inside. [I would not leave them with dogs unattended - they're not chew toys despite how attractive the hard plastic may be to a dog's teeth. :-) ]

Dog Loves This Puzzle
My dog loves this puzzle. The lifting the lid and pulling the drawer were a little tough for her at first but eventually my pup figured it out. Definitely for for the both of us!

Great attention getter for 10-month old Lab.
Poker Box Level 2 arrived in only 3 1/2 days from my order date and our Labrador mix puppy is very intrigued by the challenges it presents. She's gotten 2 of the boxes open and we're keeping her interest up by placing different treats in them each day. Cleaning off all her wet licks is easy and the puzzle appears to be one that will last.

Challenging & fun! (updated)
Adding an update, 4/9/22. I have both "Poker Box" versions. For the first time, I moved elements from the one Poker Box to the other Poker Box. It was as if my dog had a whole new game. Up to now, he knew exactly what to pull, push, lift. The different look slowed him down & he had to think it through again. LOVE THIS adaptability! Original review: Purchased this before manning a booth at a 4 day dog show with my dogs. When my dogs got bored, we brought out this box and after a couple of reps, the dogs were calmer and focused - and no longer bored. I love the fact it can be easily cleaned, it is quite sturdy, and it isn't super-easy / mindless. They have to actually figure out how to open each section. You can rearrange so it is in different order, or use as individual pieces. We often had other people stop with their dogs to check it out and ask where we got it. Very popular! Down side, the knobbed cover seems to attact chewing, so be aware of that. Definitely worth the 5 stars!

Great Entertainment
My poddle loves this! It's a great way to keep meal time entertaining. Only bad thing was that it was missing a drawer piece

Not too easy for my dog and sturdy enough to survive his techniques!
I have a 6-year-old Elkhound (size of a labrador, chunky, impatient). I bought this to entertain us between walks. He's got a couple of smaller "intelligence puzzles" but the components are a bit too small for him. This one is perfect, and far cheaper than many similar puzzles. We've played with it 3 times now and he has got the hang of 3 out of the 4 puzzles. I'm sure he'll get all of them soon but will still love playing with it. He is an intelligent dog but gets very excited by treats so it's a matter of calming him down, making him sit and wait, and showing him how the boxes open. He is a bit "different" from most dogs in the way he does things (he uses his paws to hold and open things rather than his mouth) so it's difficult to find toys he likes. I'll be looking for more from this range!

Our cat had all parts open by day three.
Our cat is intelligent and has a number of these toys. By day three he has worked out how to open all four compartments. He still enjoys doing it, but it isn't the "challenge" we wanted. Anyone need a toy tester?

Excellent product but could be developed?
This is a really well made and well designed product. 4 puzzles each requiring different skills from your dog. Put a high value treat in each and off you go. My golden retriever took approx 2 minutes the first time and got faster and faster. Now down to 30 seconds. That’s why it gets 4 stars. Is there some way that new puzzle parts could be developed that fit into this one and add new challenges? It would add to the longevity of the product by adding new challenges and allowing you to rotate through them. Otherwise this is a 5 star product for sure. I believe there is a follow on harder version of this, but I want to get more value from this one first.

My dog enjoys the challenge (and the treats!)
Nice little box with four different ways to open a lid and find a hidden treat. The two lids with cord handles were more challenging for my dog as he has quite big paws and muzzle (he is a Goldendoodle) and might be easier for a terrier size dog. However I tied pieces of wool to the cords and he can pull on them well. He is very proud of his opening abilities!

My dog is very excited to find his treats
My dog learned quickly how to get treats from boxes. Every time he is very excited to find his treats. Do not leave the dog alone with the toy unattended, dogs may chew some plastic parts.
