Good potential, but…

I’ve had Thorlo wool socks that were top rate. These were a bit disappointing. Here’s why: the sock is comfortable and feels good, however there are runs and protruding threads in the sock that make it look of lesser quality. It works, but not confident on durability.

fit, long lasting

these socks are expensive but well worth it, they last a long time and fit well. Cowboy boots fit more securely with them. Make sure you follow instructions for care- that's the key to socks longevity. wash and use fabric softener and they will last a long time. For my husband I swear by these socks.

They're okay, but...UPDATE: I don't like them.

6/6/15 UPDATE: My first review I gave 3 stars because I thought maybe I needed to try the larger pair. I returned the Medium, and ordered Large. They were just as bad. The sock has good cushion, but will not stay up over the calf, and I'm constantly having to pull them back up. So with the constant dropping of the sock it ends up bunching a bit in the boot. Maybe my feet and calves are odd size/shape I don't know, but I bought these based on internet searching and Amazon reviews. They may work for you, but I can't justify the money for these socks just to be mediocre at best. Borderline 3 stars... I just got the socks yesterday, and wanted to give them a try right away. Been wearing them with my cowboy boots, and just some walking around they feel really good in the boot, but I noticed after wearing for a bit and sitting/standing they slip down, and slightly bunch up in the toe areas. They do almost fit over my entire calf if i stretch them up as far as possible, but will almost immediately fall down a tad, and then start working their way back down and eventually back inside my boots. I've had to pull them back up several times throughout the morning so far, and its a tad annoying. The foot area is nice a cushy though, and I can definitely tell a difference in comfort from some other socks I was wearing. Perhaps I ordered a size too small, but from the description and comments I figured I was borderline and ordered the "medium-11" since I wear a size 10, but maybe I will return these and get the large size and then do an updated review. I also have some Gold Toe socks on order to try as well. Just trying to find the most comfortable socks to wear in my cowboy boots all day, and not get hotspots or pain on my feet.

Cushioned Socks

The socks are okay and they fit good but if anything the cushioning is too much. When I tried to put my shoes on the cushioning was so much that my shoe didn't fit. I would have returned them but they work okay with my western boots. So I decided to keep them for those occasions.

Tall, comfortable socks that stay up without feeling too tight

Soft, cushy Thorlo style foot as expected. Tall socks, almost knee high, and tops are not as thick as the foot, so they are good to wear under boots. Not wearing boots? No gap between the top of the socks and pants' hem, even when sitting with legs crossed! They stay up without being too tight. A pleasure to wear. P. S. I am not an equestrian.
