Definitely off the shoulder

I thought it was a short-sleeved dress from the pictures but it's off the shoulder. The way the sleeves work makes it bunch up on the chest if you pull the sleeves up. It's still a very pretty dress. But more conservative people might not like it.

Cute, but SO small and short

My baby is 10mo, 19.5lbs and 28.5" tall, and we got the 9-12m size; she's below both the weight and height range for this size on the chart, so I thought we were golden. The torso of the dress fits her quite closely, not enough to make the zipper hard to get up but definitely more tailored than I expected for a baby's dress (I didn't expect stretch fabric, but FYI, no stretch). The bottom half barely covers her diaper when she's standing straight up; when she sits down, the dress rides completely up over her hips like a top, and then she stands back up and it stays until someone pulls it down. It would be hard to keep this dress functioning as a dress for an adult, who sits in chairs and knows to keep her knees together, but for a baby, it's just an inept design, even aside from being cut way too small overall. Think 60s minidress. At the very least, something this short merits matching bloomers or something, especially for the $40 on the tag. I guess we know why this one's on Amazon at clearance prices. Fabric and construction are fine, color is very pretty and represented accurately.
