Lid for Victoria 10” cast iron fry pan

Be very careful after washing this lid. Water collects under the glass on inside of the lid. I did not soak it, simply washed it for first use. Had to push my fingernail up in between layers to get to water trapped there. Will not store this lid on top of cast iron pan for fear that it will rust my new skillet if any water residue is still trapped inside. Is this defective? The knob was placed inside the lid upon delivery. I assume to protect it and easier shipping. The lid fits perfectly on the Victoria 10” skillet. Mine is oven safe to 450 degrees per shipping box. I’ll just be careful to make sure it is thoroughly dry before storing!

Sturdy, perfect for my lid-less pan

So sturdy, great size that works for a pan I purchased years ago that didn't come with a lid. The vent hole works great when I'm steaming things, so the lid doesn't rattle. Though the handle does get hot (being metal and all) so I would recommend using a mitt if you're lidding something for a while.

Product is good, but has single fatal flaw

I read several reviews where people had trouble with the handle on the lid, but decided to purchase anyway. While I really enjoy the lid, and it fits Victoria cast irons quite well, the handle does in fact break off. Luckily, the glass was not damaged at all, and the failure point was determined to be the metal washer. After a trip to the hardware store, the washer was replaced with another, stainless steel one. I would give the product a solid 4 out of 5, were it not for needing to make repairs.

Works great

This lids fits my ceramic pan and is a lot cheaper than the one sold by the company that makes the pan.

Screw loose but very nice otherwise

Big enough but screw kept becoming loose. I will reorder hopefully it was just with this one

cost more than a frying pan but perfect fit!

I got a 6.5" pan when it was 17 dollars :( not 9 like now, but both the pan and the lid are great. Lid has no plastic washers, so is oven-safe and the pan is sand-cast but smoother than Lodge. This Colombian foundry does know how to cast iron!

Purchased for the stainless steel knob

I purchased this lid only for the stainless steel knob on top. My cast iron Dutch oven lid had a plastic knob, Soviet I switched it out with this knob, and it works awesome and can go into the oven up to 450 degrees, and was much cheaper cost than just purchasing a “high end” knob, so a win win!!

Hard to find large lids

The lid was ordered for a large chefmate stock pot. I did not want to throw the pot away, and the fitt is extremely close - also works on my cast iron skillet. Amazon was the only place I found a lid in the required diameter.

Fits other 13" (non-Victoria) cast iron pan perfectly.

Not that good

This glass lid costs over 52.00 $ cad. So much$ for so little. The quality of this glass lid suffers a great deal. The lid I was sent was difficient. The screw and cheap plastic washer were not usable. I had to find a thick ruber washer and use this with the screw to attach the handle to the lid. It now functions. Another quirk with this lid is that it leaks. If you cover the skillet while cooking. The lid leaks water (accumulated steam)…..I have to clean up if I lift the lid to stir food being cooked……Am not pleased with this product and purchase. Buyer beware………..
