Nice and powerful

Bought this pump to replace an old one that burned out. We have a 10 acre property with a drip system that pumps water from the lake behind our home for irrigation. We do have to water in sections because property is too large to water all at once, but the pump has no problem bringing great water pressure all the way to the sections in the very front. Very satisfied.

Superior 1.5hp Lawn Pump review

This pump is well built. I prefer the brass impellor which sold me on this pump. It is heavy but easy to install. The base has two slots (not holes) this allows for easier alignment with bolts you may have cemented in. I used a cardboard drawing of base to lay on soft concrete to place bolt mounts. I heated and made L bent threaded 3/8” rod (2 pieces each about 6 inches long). I was surprised the motor was so quiet. I have had many lawn pumps and all were a little noisy. This one was not. Comes ready for 220 volt use but you can change to 110 volt with switch. Note that I coated the motor after installation with Boeshield T9, a wax coating I used to use on my boat stern and outboard drives. This prevents rust as the pump is outside and gets hit with rain and sprinklers. If you do this be sure motor is dry, and not running. Great piece of equipment and would buy again.

Great pump

I am using this pump for irrigation with a lift of 18ft. Plenty of water and well worth the money. Much better pump than my last one that cost less but did not pump as much water.

pump failed out of return window

Pump failed. Out of retern window. Very very disappointed. Checked one star only because it would not let me complete without it.

Powerful and Quiet

I replaced a Gould Pump after only 26 months of service. Gould was always the standard, and I gladly paid more for it. The motor failed. A replacement motor installed, would cost almost as much as a new pump I was advised by the new corporation that purchased the original Gould Pumps, that I should purchase a new one instead. I did, but not Gould. The Superior pump is well-constructed and fits in the same place as the Gould without moving any of the plastic piping. I live in South West Florida and the pump runs year-round. At this point, after 3 months I would recommend the Superior.
