Sizes run large

I contemplated between buying a size 4 or a size 6. I'm 5'10 130# so finding pants that are long enough but still fit my waist is a struggle. I decided to go with the size 4 and hoped they wouldn't be too tight. Upon arrival I tried them on to discover they are WAY too big around the waist. These pants fit me like a size 6 or larger; I can literally pull them down to my ankles without unbuttoning or unzipping them, making them look bulgy in some places after I solidify them around my waist with a belt. However, I am happy that the pants are long enough so I'll be keeping them, (plus I am a busy lady and don't feel the trip to the post office to return them is worth it) but if I buy a 2nd pair I'll definitely go with a size 2 if available, and I will keep my fingers crossed that the length will be kept. I have yet to wear these pants in the field, but after reading several reviews, I have high hopes for their high quality. Also to be noted, the inside lining of the waist band is very soft and I love the zippered pocket and the versatility of these pants/capris/shorts. The woven material is an added bonus. I can't wait to see how these hold up backpacking!

ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ARTICLE OF CLOTHING I OWN.

I’m in love with these pants. I wear them almost too much, haha. This is the second pair I bought. I wear them all season long! In the winter, I wear them long with a pair of wool long johns underneath and I’m all set for the cold. In the spring, I wear them Capri style. And in the summer, I wear them for shorts. I’ve worn them for multiple week/month backpacking trips with little to no washing and they never smell, just look dirty but that’s on me. I also wear them everyday to work as a professional gardener and they’re super durable and have never ripped or tore on a rose bush or anything. They’re also extremely breathable and the perfect material for hikers or people who do labor outside. I will keep buying these pants for the rest of my life!! Marmot is an awesome company, I love everything I’ve purchased from them. I will say that if you wear them as much as I do, which is at least 5 days a week but I also end up wearing them on my off days too because they look good with everything, they will show normal wear and tear that regular heavily worn pants would. After 2 years of keeping shears/ scissors in the back pockets, rolling around in the dirt, etc etc, the pocket seams came loose and the pants started to look a little ragged. I love them so much that I hand sewed the pockets back together and I wear them anyway even though they looks very worn. But those pair had been through A LOT in those two years and I fully accept that this new pair will do the same.

Comfortable and light

We’re doing a ton of hiking and foraging during the Covid crisis and I felt I needed to up my outdoor game. These pants have been perfect, albeit too long for me at 5”3”. I hemmed them once but not quite enough and they still hot the back of my heel. But other than that, I love them. They are comfortable and light. I wear them hiking and swimmers in the creek and they dry off quickly.

Slim fit with a little room

I like the slim fit, with a little room. The zipper legs are comfortable and the style on the waste is cute. I'm a size 8, 150lb and 5'5". These pants only come in regular length and are too long for me, but I won't return them because the seller charges a fee for the return ($3.33). I will try to hem them.

Not as functional as I’d like

Comfortable but I don’t like the fabric. They attract lint and dog hair like you wouldn’t believe. I’m not accustomed to needing a lint roller for hiking pants. That said, they dry fast and are comfortable so I guess they will do. I wish the pockets had zippers (and wish there were more pockets, and deeper pockets) and I wish there were straps/ places to hook stuff to. I was looking for a very utilitarian pant and these are not that. These will be used for around the house/garden, or a weekend day hike, but will never make the cut for a true adventure.

My pick after trying over a dozen convertible pants!

I'm 5'4" and 155 lbs. After trying over a dozen pair of convertible pants I bought two pair of these for a trip to Africa, desert khaki and the crocodile. I'm usually between a 10 and 12, got these in the 12. Really like the fuzzy lining of the waist, which sits on my hips without being too long. I never actually took the legs off but the quality seems good, weight of the material is nice. My second choice was Outdoor Research Women's Ferrosi.

Recommend! Order a size smaller than your usual size

Recommend those pants for hiking! Make sure to order a size smaller than you usual size, they run big. I wear size 8, but after reading reviews ordered size 6 which fits well. Very comfortable, quality made, lightweight, already wore them on a few trips and no complaints!

Taglia inaspettatamente molto grande

Conosco il marchio e ho ordinato questi pantaloni di taglia 2 (taglia che porto abitualmente). Pur avendo effettivamente ricevuto la taglia indicata, i pantaloni sono enormi. Mi aspettavo una vestibilità da XXS mentre ciò che ho ricevuto corrisponde ad una 42. Allego foto per confronto. In primo piano i miei short Marmot taglia 2, confrontati con quelli ordinati, sempre indicati taglia 2. A malincuore dovrò renderli. Per il resto sono bellissimi e di qualità

Bequeme Hose, gute Passform

Die Hose fühlt sich leicht an, ist angenehm zu tragen. Sie ist recht lang (ich bin 1,65 groß), ich trage sie 1x umgekrempelt. Mit breiteren Oberschenkeln kann es aber vorkommen, dass der Reissverschluss am Oberschenkel beim Knien oder Klettern recht eng wird und drückt. Ansonsten: gute Ware fürs Geld.

Nice material and comfy pants

The best companion on my hikes. It is super soft and fits perfectly. Easy to clean and dries fast. It looks quite good too.
