High Quality Kids Suit - Sure to last as a hand me down

This is a very nice, simple bathingsuit. It runs a bit on the small side, but that said it has held up beautifully in both salt water and pool water. My daughter says she feels like a mermaid in it. The cut is comfortable enough for all day use, and the sun protection is legit. My only lament is that this is a hand-wash only suit. That's a tall order when we have beach bums who want to go on a daily basis. That said, it's holding up after regular abuse in sand, sea, and pool...it should survive long enough to make it to the next sibling down.

Cute, stay-put, sturdy, wide elastic rainbow straps are very comfortable

For some reason, the title of this item currently says "thin straps," but the best part of this swimsuit is the nice wide elastic straps, which are much more comfortable on the kiddo's shoulders. This will be especially important when she's starting to outgrow it. This suit is fully lined and seems very well made, so I expect it to actually outlast the season. My daughter is a little chubby and consequently usually favors bikinis (more accommodating of the tummy), but this suit is very soft and stretchy, and with the wide straps, is comfortable enough for her to wear all day, something she won't do with most swimsuits (which get peeled off immediately). I remember living in my swimsuit in the summertime, so it's fun to see her wearing hers all day, and she's happy, too--she's one of those kids who prefers to go around naked, but has hit that 8-year-old modesty that suddenly requires her to wear clothing, not ideal in our mostly AC-free home. In summertime, the bathing suit = fully dressed most of the time, so with a comfy suit, she's very happy. She is in between sizes and we went up a size, and it's perfect--not too baggy, but a little room to grow.

Good quality and fashionable

I got this for my daughter. It is from Speedo, a brand we trust. The material is 82% Polyester, 18% Spandex. It is stretchy and comfortable. It is great to know that it is UPF 50+. But you need to know your trade-offs for this design. It looks really nice, but it doesn't have sleeves. So even it blocks 98% of harmful sun rays. You have your arms and legs completely exposed. I also would like to have bra paddings. I consider it a must-have for teenagers.

Runs very small and the straps are itchy

We ordered the size 12 swimsuit for our very petite, just-turned 10-year-old. The size chart provided for this item is absolutely nonsensical and needs to be revised. We went with the size 12 and figured, if the suit was too big, we would save it for next year. To our surprise, the size 12 was comparable to the size 8 swimsuit from Target that we were replacing! This swimsuit has thick stretchy straps on the back that feel scratchy and uncomfortable. We are so disappointed because this is a cool-looking swimsuit, in an awesome color. Speedo, get your sizing figured out for this swimsuit style!
