Great for cat toy

I attach cat toys to it and play inside and outside with my cats. It works great in a big room or down the hallway and my cats love to run after it.

Great for cats!

This casting rod is super easy to use, and it’s great fun for playing with cats and kittens. I recommend wrapping the fish sinker with fabric or padding because it’s too hard for a cat to hold in its mouth. Take care to not cast at the cat! I know this rod is meant for small children, and I think it would be great fun for them, especially if they have loved ones that fish. How exciting to have their own rod and go fishing with parents or grandparents! -easy to use -lightweight -perfect size for a small child -great value for the money, especially if purchased via daily deal Only drawbacks I can see: -cannot restring the line reel; though I haven’t tried -does not float -probably not strong enough to reel in a big fish. -the sinker fish enclosed is really hard. If child has poor aim, could easily bean someone on the head— USE PARENTAL GUIDANCE Definitely a 5 star product. I would have loved this as a kid.

Perfect Starter Rod for Toddler, Preschool, Young Elementary

Wanted a Mickey rod for my almost 3 year old - since that’s what I started out with. A lot of reviews said this was just for practice or that really young couldn’t use this as a real rod. Nope - fully functional toddler fishing pole! The casting fish is great when they are ready to start attempting to cast on their own in the backyard. Easy to rig up. Does NOT come with any type of hook or tackle. Grab a hide-a-hook bobber set (the Shakespeare one I grabbed was already rigged and I just had to tie it on to the end). Perfect for starting creek and pond fishing! I will note that while this was perfect, I am looking at a different rod for when we go to the beach and fish in the saltwater creeks. The line on this is fine, but those flounder hit quick and it can be a big guy. I’m not looking to test the line weight. We’ll get a more professional/heavy weight rig for that trip! If you have littles or grands you want to take old school creek or pond fishing - this does the trick magnificently! Out of the packaging, hook/bobber/weight tied on and had a brim on the line within 15 seconds of our hook hitting the water. Can’t beat that for a lucky starter rod!

AWESOME TOY FOR PLAYING WITH CATS

This came in handy when I couldn't find another toy fishing pole for cats. I guess they don't make them anymore. I didn't even have to tie any of their feather or fur toys to it, I used the standard lure that came with the pole to cast out. It also seems that it will cast as far as you have the room. Cats still love to chase it. They are also entranced by the clear nylon fishing line so, when we're done playing, I wind in the line and put the entire toy out of reach. This is to prevent my fur babies from getting strangled or choking on nylon line that they may try to eat when no one is supervising.

Super flimsy, the reel container is only screwed in on one side so when we tried to attach a (really light) toy, the container slipped around and cracked on the opposite side. Not even worth it to teach a kid the basics of fishing or for a toy.
