Easy to adjust bur poor range

I purchased this motion detector to replace a Lutron that only worked out to 15 feet. This one advertised up to 30 feet which would fit my need for 22 feet of range. I installed it and set it to it's most sensitive range and can barely get it to work at 12 feet. Very disappointing! However when it comes to adjusting sensitivity, daylight detection, and time to stay on, this couldn't be easier to adjust. I'm considering wiring two of these in parallel and installing them at different locations to see if this will solve my problem. A motion sensor that actually worked out to 30 feet would be much easier though.

Excellent Motion Detection

Installed in bathroom and closets. One for bathroom lights and the second one for overhead exhaust fan. They work very well for each purpose as they are programmamble for sensitivty (detecting motion), length of time on (my lights stay on longer than the exhaust fan, for example) and can be turned on manually by pushing the front tab. I also placed them in walk-in closets and are great; no fumbling for a wall switch in the dark. Excellent product, good purchase.

Great only one downfall

I think the motion light is great. The only thing that prevents me from giving a 5 star is that there’s no setting to keep light on. There is an option to turn the motion off and you can click it off but nothing to keep light on for extended period of time other than the setting time intervals allotted.

Really good. Documentation is lacking though

I have a small "mud room" that I installed this in. It's largely great. I have it set to the lowest setting: 15 seconds. But that's the 1 downside: the documentation doesn't tell you what each "tick" mark is on the time setting. It just says "15 seconds to 30 minutes." Like, great... but what is each tick mark? 15 seconds and then 1 minute? or 5 minutes? or 30 seconds? It's vague here. Largely it's great though. Helpful to come on for the few seconds I'm in the mud room taking off my shoes. I liked this one best of the ones I tried because of the very short timer. I didn't want to stay on for a full minute. all the time.

Works well

Was easy for me to install and works extremely well. Our pets don’t trigger it but people always do. Please note that it requires a neutral wire in the switch box. I had that, but some people may not, in which case I don’t think it would work. I preferred this because it means the switch is not sending ANY current through the lights when they are off. Motion sensor switches with no neutral do send a small current through the lightbulbs while off to operate, and that’s not great for LED bulbs like I use.

Great lighting solution for safety and convenience!

I have installed 8 of these so far in my new home. A very good quality item with easy to follow instructions. I initially installed two in two dark corridors that lead to a utility/laundry room where I installed another. I'm either carrying laundry, my dogs dishes or one of my dogs to bathe in the utility sink and it's nice to not enter dark rooms. The garage location has worked well as it lights up the garage quickly when the I open the interior and garage door. I've installed one in a closet (great location). I also installed one at the bottom and top of a stairwell. Often I'm carrying something up or down the stairs. However, at the bottom of the the stairs it won't detect me until I'm 3 to 4 steps from the bottom landing. I have others installed in my home's long entry way hallway. I was initially concerned that my small dogs would trigger the sensors but that is not the case. I initially bought these items based on the GE brand name and the devices being UL Listed too. Out of 8 purchased I have only received one item that didn't work that I easily returned for s replacement. It's kind of cool to have each room light up as you walk through them (seems kinda SciFi to me. I still have a few more places to install these, so I will be buying more. Great quality item at half the price the same item at the big box stores near me.

Perfect Motion Sensor

Replaced my 10 year old motion sensor which broke. This works perfectly and has 3 nice dials to adjust for range, time and daylight sensitivity. The additional button to turn on and off is perfect.
